Am I the only one who cant seem to get this thing figured out. They claim one hand operation but there is no way I can make that happen. Luckly the fix is cheap. Any other people swap out the CLIX skewer?

I also noticed it doesnt seem to hold very tight It seems to move under heavy braking. And its tight.

im new to biking and just got a new piranha I didnt know the clix thing was new until I had the bike at the shop yesterday to get the shifter adjusted the guy saw me struggling to get the wheel on and filled me in on the fact that they were new. I thought that was just the standard. What can I replace it with?

I have been biking since 93 and maybe its just me but I dont like this CLIX skewer. My bike shop said they have switched a bunch of them out with the standard skewer. My old truck rack didnt require me to take off the front wheel but the new one does and its been a big pain. Sorry rant off!

The Clix skewers have been coming on some bikes for 2 or 3 years now, mostly entry level stuff. Once I figured out how to operate it, its actually pretty cool. After its initially set, you do not have to loosen the nut to clear the lawyer tabs. Just open the lever and pull the cup thing on the lever side out, away from the fork, and then push the skewer in enough for the wheel to fall out. I use my index and middle finger to pull the cup thing. If the fork has tapered dropouts, you can put the wheel back on just by pushing it in and closing the lever.

Damn, it was a bike shop I stopped at heading south from Waterbury, Vermont. Can't remember the name of the shop. If I can find the receipt, I'll post the shop name. I like this skewer, I did have concerns about it, no specific reasons, but it has worked well all summer and I would definitely recommend this product!

My dealer has a box full of them. They are junk. I have decided the CLIX skewer is for people that can’t use a normal skewer or are not coordinated enough. Mine would not stay tight enough and I would get brake rub.
