Can spacers be used for 12x135 hub to 12x142?

I just made an impulse purchase on a new frame which has a 12x142mm rear axle that can not be converted to 10x135mm. Parts will be transferred from another bike since I do not have the money to purchase another build at this time.

The current wheel set has a 12x135mm Hope Bulb hub which cannot be converted to 12x142mm.

Can I use or have some spacers made so I can use the Bulb hub with the new frame until until I can afford to buy new wheels? It will not be a permanent solution but for a few months until I can afford to build a new wheel set.

Related to this I contacted White Industries re future availability of a 150mm front hub or if they are okay about spacing their 135mm hub. This is the response I received from Lynette at White Industries:

We don't offer a 150mm as of yet and the 135mm hub can't be converted. Sorry
Don't know if that means a 150mm hub is coming ...

Correct! You would have feed the axle thru one of them on the disk side before going into the hub and one on the other end before going into the frame.
Sounds fun huh? I'm thinking of getting a set or two from MBTOOLS if the price is right. See post #8 for the link to his site.

Access to a machine shop! Sweet! You shouldn't have any problems making those.
I'm want to convert a 150 x 12 mm wheelset to 157x12 mm in case my 157 mm wheelset breaks again and leaves with no backups when I go DHing.
