Looking for a boost hub set with high engagement. Maybe 54t plus? I've used Bitex in the past but haven't had the best luck with durability. Looking to spend $200-$500 on a set, 32h, XD driver.

What's out there and in stock? Links would be helpful!

$500 isn't enough for a quality hub set? Main purpose of the post was to see if anyone knew of something good currently in stock.

Bitex wheels are long gone. I have another set on my gravel bike but broke one on my MTB.

Just got an Onyx Classic and I'm never going back to a traditional hub! Definitely understand not wanting to drop $500 for just a rear hub and not everyone likes the silent freewheeling.

Pretty sure you could get a set of DT Swiss 350s and a 54t ratchet for about $500 total but I don't know about availability.

Up to $500 on a hubset or wheelet? If wheelset, that takes about $200 for rims spokes and nipples so only leaves about $200 for rear hub and $100 for front hub. So what is the best -$200 rear hub out there? In not sure… but if you are thinking $500 for just hubs the industry 9 1-1s are probably in that range

I have these on my daily rider:

Fantom Hub | Funn - mountain bike components

Very affordable here in Australia, not sure how they compare for price over there though.

102tooth engagement, come in all the driver standards. Only used for 4 months, but I have been happy so far.
Got a pair of Funn 157mm hubs for my Salsa Cassidy. So far so good, seem like nice buzzy hubs.

The Ztto (DT knockoff) hubs with boost spacing & 54 tooth ring drive are $100 from aliexpress.

For DT ratchet engagement, Erase hubs, check those out. Better value than DT. Come stock with 60T engagement, titanium driver, preload adjustment. Cost is probably right around $500 USD.

If pawl and tooth is your thing, check out Factor hubs.

Erase hubs seem interesting - looks like they pull design cues from DT’s EXP ratchet design, but have adjustable hubshell bearing pre-load (with a lock collar) like a Chris King. The ratchet is still within the freehub (like a DT) so Erase’s 60POE is darn near the theoretical limit for reliable ratchet teeth. (Vs a Chris King that has the ratchets in board and between the hub flanges).

too bad there is no Erase distribution in the USA
