When dealing with a bike with horizontal dropouts, is there an axle position in the dropout where things begin to become ill advised and/or dangerous?
I'm setting up my Ogre with the option to be a singlespeed but due to the tire size, I have to lengthen the chain and pull the wheel almost the to the end of the dropout to eliminate rubbing. From the outside edge of the axle to the opening of the dropout, my calipers read 3mm. I don't quite have the correct chain tension (too loose) so that number will get smaller.
Thanks!
