I dont know why but i really want to build one of these. I do know why - super light weight ride and they just look amazing. Now that being said i have never ridden one. Anyone on here build one of these? Any tips or other equally cool frames i should know about? I am 6'5" @ 225 lbs and ride on the east coast. I have plenty of other bikes for Parks and rougher trails......

I am going to be canabilizing as much of this bike as i can - for those that are curious i bought this bike and never really bonded with it and it has been sitting in my basement. it does have a 140 but i think that should be ok...

Parts Bike: Stumpjumper Expert | Specialized.com

I think All i should need to buy is
  • Frame
  • Bottom bracket: Suggestions for bb other than SRAM DUB BB92
  • Headset: any suggestions for something other than the CANE CREEK 110 INTEGRATED
  • Seat post: I dont think im going to put a dropper on right away - any suggestions for seat post?
Any other guidance?

I built one up this year and it’s been fun so far. My other bike is a Ripmo V1 so was just looking for something to take out when I don’t need a FS. I actually have not ridden my Ripmo once this year yet because the arc has been so much fun. It does very well ridden aggressively and imo leans more towards trail riding than being an XC bike. It likes to go fast and has a very soft feel for being a hardtail. I threw a cushcore pro in the rear and it makes a noticeable difference in damping.

I left the fork at 130mm and threw a -1, 9point8 angleset on there as many people recommended to unleash the cornering ability of this bike. I think you will get similar results with the 140mm fork. Hardtail Party on YouTube does a great review on the bike.
The other bike I was eyeing was the Ibis DV9, but lack of real hands on reviews and some of the geo numbers made me go with the Arc.

Also if anyone has a good lead on a frame that would be appreciated too. I was going to buy from these guys but they must have turned off the 10% coupon between yesterday and today.

I just picked this up. I normally prefer to build up frames but.... the price was right. Most of the specs work well.

Quick feel out ride last night.... I'm excited. Really quick. Climbs exceptionally well.

I picked one up a couple of months back. I got a great deal on a C1 build. I really love this bike. I too was looking for a DV9 to take for a test ride, or any reviews and there was nothing available.
So far I've kept the HA standard and have had no issues with the way the bike handles at all.

Kabush...but I ain't seen anyone else on one.

What is the max chainring it can fit? Do they sell this frame only? A rigid one with some 2.25 xc tires would make for a great fireroad and green-blue grinder.
They do sell it as a frame only, it's about $2100 though. I'm contemplating putting a set of Velo Orange bars on mine just to see how it does as a bikepacking rig.

Built one from frame up 2 years ago. Fabulous bike. Went back to SS for my hard tail race bike, but my accountant bought it from me and raves about it too. Do it if you haven't already.

34 round. A 32 Oval was as close as you could get. Had a 34 Oval and no dice.
