Bone conduction FTW! Seriously, they sound great [Shox Aeroplex are the ones I have], don't/can't fall out, don't cover/block your ears. And when the music stops for whatever reason, you have nothing on/in your ears. I was skeptical until a friend let me try theirs, now they're the only 'speakers' I'll use on the bike. Give them a try, I predict you'll love them.

I don’t use my AirPod Pro’s while riding, but when walking the dog through the woods I usually listen to a podcast. I use transparency mode so that I have a better idea of what’s going on around me.

It works great for that. Even in the middle of winter and when I have a cap on that comes over them. I was worried that it would pick up a bunch of noise from the cap rubbing on them, it it has not been an issue.

I honestly really, really like the AirPod Pro’s. I also use them when I’m building stuff or doing yard work. They do a great job canceling loud sounds (saws, framing nailers, mowers…) and actually do a great job protecting your hearing.

Ended up picking up a set of the Beats fit pros today. Seem pretty good so far. Used them in the yard splitting wood for a couple hours and they didn’t budge. Transparency mode seemed to work well although nobody came around to talk as they probably didn’t want to help.

I use mine at work all the time in active noise cancellation mode when I need to hyper concentrate on something and people are making a racket. Works well in that mode too.

Great sound too. My audiophile ones might be a tad more natural sounding but they sit gathering dust, as do all the others I own.

Another Aftershox bone-conduction user here with a non-full-face helmet. The sound quality is adequate for my usage and well worth the pros of more comfort, ability to hear ambient sounds and no pressure or seal issues as with in-ear buds. I'm very happy with the way they stay on my head as well. They are not at all audiophile grade equipment, but I'm not listening like that on the trail (or even on Zwift).

I got a pair of Samsung galaxy pro buds and they have and one of the nose cancelling settings is "Ambient" which also has a volume setting so how much ambient noise you want. Haven't tested on the trail and have concerns they may fall out, but the ambient setting does work pretty well.

I much prefer the Shokz OpenRun to the AirPod Pro 2s I have for biking.
Hearing ambient stuff is much easier.
But the big one, they can’t fall out.
If you’ve ever dropped an AirPod from your bike in the forest, you know what I’m talking about…
Battery life is longer as well, which is nice for those who forget to charge stuff….

Just be careful if you only wear only in one ear, as you have to turn it up at least 6db louder to match what you hear with both in. And the Shockz, which I also have, can do hearing damage as fast as earbuds...
I use my pros as hearing aids, as I cant hear anything...too many years in the entertainment industry...
I went and had my hearing checked so I could prove to my wif that I was not ignoring her...

Did it get you out of the doghouse? That is the question.

Not really, now when I say “what…?” She just rolls her eyes…
I wrote a whole big response, forgot to log in first…luckily for you all
I just turned 59 last week, ears ring all the time

take care of what hearing you have left….

I miss the quiet, and wearing a full face, I jump when ever someone rolls up quick behind me, as I don’t hear them coming….

Look at the apple beats fit pro. Wife has them and loves them. Better fit.
I broke 2 pair of those and gave up. Maybe they have been improved. The sound was substandard in mine as well - WAY too much ambient noise and no bass (notwithstanding that they were Beats).
No. My second pair was before Apple acquired Beats. So maybe 5 years ago.

I doubt thought that these will be nearly as unnoticeable in a full face as the AirPod Pros. And I can almost guarantee they won’t sound nearly as good.

The AirPod Pros, in my view, are very good on all fronts. I have some audiophile ear buds too, as well as a number of other leading brands. Nothing touches the AirPod Pros. I can give you a list of what I have if you wish. I have an assortment. Lol.

If I get these posts right, Beats Fit Pro came out after AirPods Pro so I don't know how you could have bought them before Apple bought Beats.

With the AirPods Pro, top Sony, the Beats Fit Pro and others personally or in the family I find sound to be excellent and not at all like old Beats stereotypes and the Beats Fit Pro physical design stays in the ears and is more sports friendly.

The B Fit Pro work great not with an Apple device same way as others - you need the right software for Spatial Audio - but like AirPods with H chip also. Their noise cancelling is a bit different. Get AirPods Pro for hearing aid feature. The Beats Fit Pro get me more awareness of surroundings than noise cancelling mode with AirPods.

With having and knowing a few top competitors I don't always agree with a lot of reviews likely without that experience.

I've never had the Beats Fit Pro design pop out of ears unexpectedly as others have. They are far more friendly for winter helmet use. I like not needing an app as Sony is or with Apple devices not having to do the setup and right software for Dolby Atmost as I have to do with Windows or Android.

Haven’t gone back to review this thread but trust me. I had 2 pair of Beats before my AirPod Pros. I broke both pair and gave up. I still have them and all the packaging. Happy to post pics if you wish. I bought the AirPod Pros after that. They are 1000x better in every respect than the Beats were. Presumably the design changed after Apple acquired them. I sure AF hope it did because they were pure $hit. Top 5 disappointing products I have ever purchased in my life. Period. I would never go back and see if the design changed for the better. In the meantime, my AirPod Pros have been to hell and back. They have been subject to massive sweating and rain and they just keep on going strong.

We agree on some old not so great Beats products but I'm not sure I can help you if you don't or can't understand product differences, timelines plus how there can also be differences under different company ownership.

For others who might be interested, the Fit Pro models have the H chip family Apple brought out with APP models, a fit and hold design really good for sports and fit issues, and good physical design along with that NC, transparency mode and good sound profile. In addition a good version of the schema other products for Windows and Android bring audio features including the Dolby Atmos when a pair of H chips are not involved. IMO it is nice how they are like others for Windows and Android use yet have H chip pairing others do not have.

To be on totally on topic, the Fit Pro should be seen as having the H chips, same Apple transparency mode, but a physical design and software optimized for sports activity. APP have a superior case but the Beats case also helps keep them less expensive.

Dude. Chill. I specifically said that Apple may have redesigned the product following its acquisition of Beats, and my comments were based on the 2 100% crap Beats products I had. What do you not understand about that?
