Lots of changes for the 2025 race season, so strap on, check your chin strap and hang on to dear life as we ramble about our favorite topic.

This is 'interesting'. Possible proposals to include points gained in other disciplines to count towards WT road rankings........I can see the theory behind it - encourage Road teams to take on multi discipline riders to score points. I can't imagine too many Road teams wanting this.....

Could this be a way for teams that are already planning to run events like Gravel Worlds to benefit??? I can see that being a draw if they were already thinking that way. I cannot see it pulling people from the WT necessarily.... unless they CAN score points where they would not.

No idea, but I'm guessing riders like Kopecky/ Ganna/ Viviani/ Milan score points which are then registered to their WT Road team. Similarly, the CX riders who turn out for Baloise-Trek may well score points for Lidl-Trek?

Not exactly; teams won't be forced to sign multi discipline riders, so no extra budget is needed - but if they see it could be to their advantage, why not? It's unlikely to affect a team like UAE. But if it was in place now, and Bora still had Koreztky, he'd have got a shed load of points for them this season. It could work - and anything that encourages more multi discipline riders has got to be good. And, seeing as this is a MTB forum, it may see some XC riders getting more interest.......

going back to the OFF SEASON silence by brands and teams
I don't follow many other sports, but winter sports aside (obvs) it's shameful. nothing but shameful. brands and teams should really be ashamed.
"it's not the off-season training pictures that sell bikes"
probably not, but brand recognition must never stop. and SILENCE AND ABSENCE of any input won't sell bikes either.
it sucks. brainless people in charge. it angers me, not because I can't live without a photo of, say, Sebastian Fini's 2025 helmet on the table during a coffee stop, but because that would be what the fans that will buy all the apparel and stuff in the next months will remember.
instead everybody disappears for 4 months, and then brands moan the sport doesn't reach enough people. ffs

LL is rumored to go with BMC.

I've had time yesterday and this morning to browse a lot of social media and saw that both Bjorn Riley and Emily Johnston linked up in Switzerland for a ride or a XC Ski. Interestingly, Bjorn posted on Instagram what looked to be a fitting session. So, which teams are Swiss based? BIXS, Thomus and my bet for the new comers, Scott-SRAM.
