I had a chance to demo the the Scott Spark RC 900 PRO. Great bike, thinking about pulling the trigger. Shop did not have the World Cup in stock, but can order one. The build on the Pro seems really nice, almost a full XTR group. While the WC is a top of the line SRAM build. Could go either way on this. My current hardtail runs SRAM with XTR brakes. Have a slight bias towards XTR brake feel. Suspension components seem the same too.

So what are the other differences? Frame material and wheels? Has anyone else evaluated the two versions? Any observations?

I plan on eventually replacing the wheels regardless. Almost seems like a no-brainer to go with the Pro version, save a couple bucks towards the new wheelset.

Thanks!

I also have a 2019 Pro and agree it's a phenomenal bike. Differences to the 2020 are the upgrade from XT to XTR brakes and the downgrade of the cassette and chain from XTR to XT.

Not sure about the wheels on the 2020 they are listed as synchros where the 2019 had DT Swiss X1700 (350 star ratchet hubs).

If I were buying again today I'd take a 2020 Pro, I can't justify the extra for the WC and I prefer Shimano.

Family member got the WC. I had the same opportunity, but may choose the Pro since I prefer Shimano (some have Eagle, some Shimano, some mix of). I plan to sell the crank to a friend, the bar/stem, the XT cassette and XTR derailleur, and install my own carbon hoops and other parts; put the oem wheels aside for the day I sell. Install my favorite Brand X dropper, and deal with the grip/lockout situation. That is, IF I go with Scott.

Looking at the 2019 Intense Sniper SL XC frame on sale, and maybe the Orbea Oiz XC, but I don't like the Oiz's squidlock.
