I like the Ardent 2.4's for local riding. CA hard and fast with some light loose over hard. I hit top o' the world at Whistler on her, and she did well. Might have enjoyed some more meat, but they held up fine on that and A-line heading down. I rock about 22psi. Really starting to fall in love with this dirt ****. She's a little wide in the hips but she goes down like a champion!

I'm sorry if this has been covered but is this frame approved for 27.5 with 170 mm fork?

Med 2015 Balance
2016 fox 36 TALAS
XO1 drive
XT cranks
Raceface 30t narrow wide
SIXC bar
Light bike hoops on dt Swiss 350s (probably to soon be replaced by the i9/ NOX setup from my Bronson)
XT brakes (waiting on a set of Saints)
Stealth Reverb dropper
Chromag Contact peddles

Love the way this thing moves but I'm considering a large frame. I'm 5-10 and with a 50mm stem it feels well sized but can't help but thinking a large frame with a 35mm stem might be even better. Any thoughts from similar sized riders?

I'm 6'1", I ride a Large with a 50mm stem, fits really well.

Right tool for the job!

Last time I was in Moab, I still had my old 2002 Turner XCE with a 70Âş HTA, 4" of travel and no dropper. What a difference this bike makes... More hucking and lot less walking! So fun!

Awesome thread guys...

2015 Balance Sizing question: I'm 5'8.5", 30.5" inseam and like 34" sleeve. Medium or Large? I'm gonna throw a 160mm Pike on it. I've always rode medium frames. But a few posters have risen some doubt.

Thanks

New build here. Picked up a used 2015 Medium frame from Vin with a new CCDBA and updated links for my son (his evil stepmother decided she could no longer wait to inherit his Turner 5 Spot). The build is:

Fork: Manitou Mattoc
Bars: Answer Carbon 720
Stem: Kore 35mm
Grips: ODI Ruffian
Brakes: Avid Elixer 9, 180mm centerline rotors
Shifters: Sram X9
Chain: KMC 10spd
Cassette: Sram PG 1050 11-36
Crank/BB: SRAM XO Carbon-22-36 with guard
Front Derailleur: Shimano SLX
Rear Derailleur: Sram X9 Type 2
Saddle: Sette Amp
Post: Rockshox Dropper
Pedals: Fyxation Mesa 61
Tires: WTB Vigilante 2.3 Light & Fast Front, WTB Trail Boss 2.4 Light and Fast Rear.
Wheelset: DT Swiss X1700 Spline 2.

He is 5'6" and 150 pounds so the medium is a drop long at the moment, but with how he is growing should fit great by summer.

Cary,

CONGRATS on the build, it looks awesome! Be sure to post up some riding pics.

I'm looking at a balance to replace my giant reign. I am 6'2 ( 33" inseam) & ride a xl reign but it always felt to tall. Would a large balance be big enough? I was never able to get really comfortable on the reign. I have no option to test ride a balance

I'm 6' with a 33 inseam. no issues on a Large frame. I love mine!

No photo, but a short video. Interestingly, he likes the shock settings set to Park but with sag about 33%.

Link to video below because I can't figure out how to embed it:
