Just looking for a lightweight stem (130 or less if possible) that is 110mm in length and has a rise of 15 degrees plus or minus a couple degrees (14-18) and fits 31.8mm handlebar.

I was going to get the Syntace F109 which is 110mmx17 degrees but I can't locate it anywhere and distributors (even Syntace USA) doesn't have it haha! Everything else I have seen is only 6 degree ris.

The Thomson stem only comes in at 15 degrees but thats for 25.4mm handlebars :(

Help! :madman:

Thanks

I probably go with a 4 bolt faceplate to be safe :)

All these stems are "road" stems, I guess it doesn't really matter that much in terms of safety? I'm just doing XC racing, no DH/FR.
Thomson has stated in th FAQ of their site that the X2 can be used for XC mtb'ing. 3T now markets their stems for mountain biking (with no changes).

You were looking at the Syntace and you're worried about the others being any less safe?

Well, the Syntace is intended for mountain biking while the others state "intended use: road" so yeah, that makes me more comfortable about it :D

I bought the 3T stem last night from TreeFortBikes for $75, thanks for the suggestion AlexRandall.

The 110mm is claimed at 120g, 1 gram lighter than the Syntace, works for me.

If you go to 3T's site, the ARX is also listed as a mountain stem, I don't get what your reservation is about it...
I bought it before I knew it was part of their mountain bikeb lineup, so knowing that now, just makes it all the better. I got over the fact that it was for "road" and figured it would be fine.

Rockyuphill, good idea but I don't have the steerertube length for that
