This stuff is the shizz nit bomb when it comes to protecting your bike from abrasions or stone impacts:

Racers Tape Products
I've used this stuff for a long time and been very happy. I even put a piece of this stuff on the inside of the chainstays/seatstays where the tire goes by. I've used it as a chainstay protector. Of course put it at cable/frame rub points. Had one aluminum bike where it lifted the paint off when I removed the tape but I'd say that was a corner case.

Their website doesn't say where you get it.

Where can I get it?

Jet 9 2nd Cable Routing

Need to change the front derailleur cable in my RDO.
Question is... do i need to pull out the BB and drop the triangle by removing the rp23 to route new housing to install cable?
Anyone have a link to some step by step instructions on how to replace a cable on the RDO.

XO shifters ... left shifter broke internally after 6th ride.

Niner has a video on YouTube on routing internally.

You should only have to remove forks and top rear shock pin. Use a length of housing shoved up from BB to head area to route internally.

Also check the BB ferrel for rear dérailleur run. Found mine splitting this weekend causing ghost shifts.

the video i saw was the frame only and not a second cable. There was a video i watched as well for the air 9 carbon. I guess it will be the same.

going to cannibalize my enduro evo x9 shifter and add to RDO till replacement comes in. So I should get a lot of practice with the cable routing.

Maybe ill make a video :)

I removed my cranks only. I would also get the cable housing ends Niner is supplying (for between the bb and chain stay) if you don't already have them.
I installed the Niner **** kit for rear derailleir which includes:
110m
  • housing
  • chain stay ferrel
  • bb fer
rel

It was worse for me. I went back to straight cable from BB to rear der. One too many transitions for this suspension.

Also have to remove the fork?
Seems like a lot of work to do just for shifter cables.
Only way you to get your fingers inside the head tube to route cable from outside down the frame tube to BB. I stuck housing up from BB out through head tube then slid it out BB leaving cable inside.

Doen!

Thanks everyone for the info.
During my lunch break I took off the fork and handlebars -> took off the top bolt to RP23 Shock -> Dropped rear triangle -> Took off crank arms and chain rings -> (this was a b****) The rubber flange or what ever you call it. Has one bolt in center. Had to take that off to put housing through the hole under BB up through head tube and out collar.
Now I can run the cable through the housing to my front derailleur.
Have to do this tonight. Ran out of time.

Took about 45min.

Will upload photos here soon

A good time to change housing and color if you are inclined...

Bike has only 6 rides on it.
XO shifter internal broke at Palo Duro Canyon last weekend.
Waiting on replacement.

I would like to put my braided housing on the bottom but the current black ones look just fine. Dont know if it is worth the trouble :)
