Hello All,

Right now I am running Bontrager "Big Earl" wheel set which has a 20mm thru hub. I'm considering a new fork that would only come in 15mm thru axle. So my question is can I get 15mm caps to convert my Big Earl hub to fit the new fork?

Perhaps I should just consider a whole different wheelset? Any suggestions welcome.

There are no universal conversion parts. Too much variation in hub designs.

Would not bet that the Big Earl is a DT

20mm hubs/forks have 110mm drop to drop spacing. 15mm hubs/forks have 100mm spacing. The only way that would work is if your 15mm axled fork had 110mm spacing (which is on its way into the market along with boost 148).

Yes. It appears that the product is designed for the available Boost 110 forks.

My problem is I have bikes with 20mm thru-axles and 1-1/8 straight steer tubes. This combo is quickly becoming rare.

Yes MTBTools adapter works great.

I thought I would have to get a new wheel if I upgraded from my old 20x110 fork. Just installed my adapter on the wheel and it mounted perfectly on the 15x110 Rock Shox Yari fork.
2 things to keep in mind. This fork is Boost width at 110mm. Also, it is a Rock Shox fork with torque cap compatibility so there is plenty of space for the bigger caps on the wheel.
MTBTools says he has a 100mm option, but it seems like this would only work if your wheel is 20x100. Also, not sure how it works on a fork without the torque cap feature.
However, I am stoked to have an upgraded fork without having to pay for a new wheel!
