Fox Terralogic upgrade - the definitive answer.

This was some discussion a while back if a regular Float Forx
could be upgraded to Terralogic. The answer is..... (drum-roll,
please)..... yes.

I ordered the damper from Fox ($158, shipped) and put it in
my Float RLC. Direct swap with the old damper. No muss,
no fuss, took about 15 minutes, works great.

The only caveat - my Float... excuse me, f100x :D, is a
100mm... YMMV with 80mm stuff.

Remember folks, you heard it here first.

The float can indeed be converted to 80. Did You buy the fork in a box? If You did there should have been a small plastic piece in the box. It is all You need to convert it. (It is much easier than the directions' make it look)
What if my wife has a regular Fox Float 100 R... can it too be converted?

Hugh is all smiles and giggles tonight after converting his 80mm RLC to the terralogic....he LOVES it...

Conversion

The Float R should convert just fine.... Is just has a couple less knobs than the
RLC.

I think I still have the part number lying around at work for the cartridge. I'll post
it when I get to work if so.

Perhaps Hugh can post the number for the cartridge he used so that we can
tell if the 80mm damper is different than the 100mm. I think it may be. I know
that to change a 100mm to 80, you use the 100mm damper and just put the spacer
in the air spring side. I suspect the dedicated 80mm forks MAY have their own
damper, though. Hugh?

Part number

Part number for Terralogic damper, 100mm -
820-04-020
$150 + shipping ($8 for me)
You can order by phone at extension 6550

This went into a '04 Float RLC with no problem....
should be exactly the same for R and RL.

TiSS'er - If you have a 100mm fork, you can use this
damper. The plastic spacer that (should have) came
with the fork can be installed in the air spring side to
give you 80mm.

Once again, so nobody gets mad at me - I know this
will work for a 100mm fork, or a 100mm converted to
80mm. You'll have to ask Hugh if this is the same
part number for a dedicated 80mm fork.

Oh, and I would suspect this voids the warranty

Good luck.

Do you know if this kit would work in the 2003 Float RLC 100? I hope so...

I have an 80RLT - I hope this is not a stupid question

but on my 100X I do not have a lock-out on the right hand fork upper. Does the cartridge for the 03, f80X replace the lock-out or you just leave it on and not utilize it?

Thanks, ordered mine today

Thanks brewSSard for your help, after several emails and a few phone calls, Fox cleared everything up for me. I called them about a month ago and they said it wasn't possible. After badgering today they finally got me everything I needed and I will see it Friday, just in time for the weekend.

Thanks for everything, Fox stuff is $100 less than the Stratos kit, which I still have not yet received, cancelled my order today.

Thanks again, I will let you know how it goes after this weekends rides.
