Anyone with some good saddle time with the Rampages? I live in the SW and every ride is full of jagged rocks. They seem like good tires for the money, and reviews are hit and miss on them. Bottom line...are these going to get filet'ed and gutted on the sharp rocks, or hold their own?

Cheers

NO, horrible compound which breaks out annoyingly, they DRAG like a DRAGGY thing really annoying and mine rotated on the rim at moderate pressure twice in 1 ride ripping off to inner tube valves leaving me walking 12miles to go to the car.

HATE them, and will never buy a Panaracer again and rotating issue is common with all of that make, never had it happen on any other tire.

YEA!
Good tires. I rarely have rock damage issues with any tire.

Handle great. Grippy. Can feel sluggish if you are just plodding along but come alive (sort of "on plane") when you push harder.

The 26" rubber compounds are better than the 29, but I like them both. The 26 is ofered in a PR (reinforced casing) version, though I have not seen it in the US.

Good all around tires in the 29'er version at least - reasonably priced and wear well. I've run 4 of them tubeless in the back and usually get about a season out of them on rough terrain. Not stellar at any one thing, but good at most. Reasonable weight too for the volume.

love the rampages. similar design to a nev but roll a lot better. i agree with shiggy, just meandering around they can kind of be draggy, but when you push them they shine. not sure how they do on really sharp rocks but for rough ne riding they were great. currently my second favorite tire to a tk.

They have been my exclusive tire since they came out. They're very predictable on the NorCal trails year round. I feel they handle better on a wider rim like the Flows. The casings hold up well.....I've never had one tear. I run the NeoMotos on my 650B which have a similiar tread pattern. I do not notice the trail drag but I do not plodd along......WFO :thumbsup::thumbsup: I say try them out.

Very nice tire, particularly in dry to intermediate conditions. A little slippery to my personal like in wet stuff like slippery roots, rocks, etc. The compound is rather hard, but there's a new softer compound version.

Today I converted them on my AC 29er non tubeless recognized wheels.

Just $2 in yellow tape and $8 in valves + some sealant replaced $10 in tubes...

They sealed right up with no stans leaking out the bead or anywhere else. I probably have around 250 miles on them so far.

I'll report back with how they ride. going for around 22f/30r @ 170lbs
