In these parts (WNC) this is NOT entirely true............there are lots of patches with very little build up relatively speaking and many area that can get very muddy/slushy.

Bent Creek was a blast today

:eekster: I rode a few miles in Bent Creek this morning. I never saw dirt. The snow was so deep even my feet got covered with every spin. If you want some training weight this is the best time. I doubled the weight of my bike. You could not even tell I have I9's the snow was so packed up in the wheels and drive train. That was some of the hardest pedaling I could ever remember doing.
Nothing like slicing threw fresh powder.
Good times were had.
