Damn, now that's some light

Do you have a picture of the beam pattern of that setup?
I do not. I could try and do one though. What do you want to see? End of driveway against my garage door sort of thing? I do have a rather crappy camera but would be willing to give it a shot.

That's good info. I'm in the market for a light and was holding off until I heard more on the MS battery issue. But, if it's true that there is a new and better supplier, I may go for it and see how I fair. The problem is knowing whether you're actually getting the newer battery.
PM me if you want the dealer I worked with. They claim theirs are new but I am not sure if its true or not (odd that Geoman is not currently selling them if they are from a new supplier (unless he is using it as leverage to get them to take back the faulty ones?)). Mine are still going strong and based on that email I am not holding off on using them for a resolution. I'll just only charge them while at home.

I'm running the same setup- 1400 on the bars 900 on the helmet, no pictures, but it is an amazing amount of light. I normally only run the 900 on medium, more for checking out what gear I'm in, and going around curves.

It's also nice on the 1400 that the two side lights can have their beam patterns adjusted.

Had a brain lapse, and originally thought I purchased my MS from Geomanager. Going back through my emails, looks like I purchased from Single Track Store, which apparently is out of biz. However, no more than 5 mins ago, get the following. I believe the Single Track Store was local (Tucson?) Anybody else buy a MJ from them?
So, let me get this straight: you want us to do your homework for you?

Two words: Google. ;)

You know its funny, I thought about answering this way too originally, but then I read the question again, and all he asked was has anyone else bought from the single track store.
Well played sir, well played.

Here is sort of an off topic question. I've build many battery packs in the past for RC cars and such but they were all C cell packs. How are they getting an 8.4 volt battery with 4 cells? Aren't the lithiums 3.7 volts each?

Almost everyone in our group rides with MS lights and the ones that dont wish they did. Ours work just fine. Any lithium battery with catch fire on impact it doesnt matter the quality. I will not stop using mine it works good and it cost to much to replace.

There are a variety of different Li-Ion technologies offering anywhere from 3.3V nominal per cell to 4.2V. You could expect a 4 cell 2S2P pack to offer anywhere form 6.6V to 8.4V depending upon the chemical makeup of the call.

My understandig is the MS lights will run fine on 7.4V.

MS Holy Grail Battery Search

Yo all,

Read this thread first;

http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=667581

I have three heads and four batteries. If you search my posts as some will, I am a huge supporter of GEOMAN and later Reade(STS). I have been over in the DIY and Night Riding Forums where I discovered them.

These guys that build, post and share how they are stretching the LED light arena are unreal. How quickly most of of them are ready to share and guide others with their knowledge is hard to believe. Thanks to them.

GEO and Reade's CS is beyond compare and I REALLY hope they make it out the other side intact. I will not be send back any batteries to GEOMAN. They kept me night riding when my NiteRider and other lights had left me in the the dark.<(I know)

With all that being said and I hope you have read the thread lead I posted and you have hopefully perused some of the other threads on those two forums as many others have. I want to sometime(dream) to DIY my own light but in the meantime I (and others) (Madg, is it OK to use all these>( )? are looking ways to building or purchase a ready to go battery pack that we only need to cut and splice the MS power cord to another battery pack . Oh and maybe we might need to buy a $25 charger that will work with them. Anyhoo,

Thx,
John

Chill out folks. Reade is the former owner of The Singletrack Store, and now works for Geoman Gear. He is doing his best to procure better batteries, and take care of his customer's problems.

NO SCAM, a responsible business man trying to do the right thing.

Hi Dave:
My apologies on this end. I, personally, didn't think anything was amiss, but was just a bit confused about that email. As other's have pointed out--and I confirmed last night be spending about an hour on the Lighting forumn--Geomanger will honor any replacements to STS purchashers.

I think Geoman is doing a great job, and hope it works out in the long run. As ohters have said, if indeed replacement batteries can be commandeered, I'd be more than happy to pay a replacement fee, as I don't hold them personally responsible.
