yea I decided to not mess with hydrolics just yet so I went with the bb7. what do you mean by big ring up front?
Kathleen means to take off your 44 tooth large chainring on the crank and replace it with a metal or plastic bash ring, most real allmountain riding will kill a 44 tooth chain ring quick .

I have never used a 44 tooth ring at all , but I sure smash and bang my 32 tooth size bash ring all the time , and smash it hard :madman:

First ride today, and boy all i can say is..why didnt i buy a full suspension in the first place?!?! The ride was near perfect! I can tell i ride much faster and have much more control over everything now. Climbing is even easier as i can now roll of rocks instead of bouncing and loosing grip. The rear shock rides like a dream, i love the pro pedal adjustment too. I can tell though that my front fork needs a major upgrade after feeling how plush this rear was. My current brakes BLOW, hopefully those BB7s help!! Also one downfall is i can tell that my tires dont have nearly as much grip at these speeds compared to before, just another thing to add to the list! Loving the bike though!!!!!

theres several good forks on the market these days but if ya want long term, high end, wont need to upgrade anytime soon performance, thats gonna cost ya. maybe look into a used fox float 32 rlc thats not worn out and have it rebuilt buy a local expert. light, tuneable and very plush without loosin a mortgage payment. say... $350 for the fork, seals and labor? depends on the deal ya find.

as for the bb7's, i think they are a fine brake. theres not a better mechanical disc caliper on the market nor has there been for close to a decade. the trick is setup. tons of wrong ways to do it and only a cpl that bring it to life. some moron talks about 1 of those here. ignore the drama therein.

congrats on the new ride man. thats gonna make national alot more fun and surviveable

Take a look and let me know what you think

Future upgrades:
Avid BB7
New pedals (any ideas?)
New seat
New forks.
Congrats.

Leave the BB5s, they work as well or better than BB7s IME.

I find your post ironic because I am about ready to finally get rid of all my full suspension bikes.

Is there a difference between the fox float 32 rlc and just the rl models?
The rl has rebound and lock out adjustements , -----the rlc has rebound , lockout and low speed compression adjustements.

I do not need or like a lock out or any talas or ride height adjustement, nor any pro pedal in the rear shock at all.

But you gotta atleast have rebound and lowspeed compression adjustement.

If i had to run a small stanchion fox fork ( and I do not like the fox componets, or the small 32 mm stanchions) I would get the rlc if I was looking at a 32 mm stanchion fork.
