if that's what he was told and not delivered now he didn't get that and he's out a frame because what he was delivered is certainly not better than new. i can only go by the ops responses vs dt's. they aren't on the same page is all

Can I assume keen deleted the pics and his following posts?
Sounds like an error on the QC side and is being resolved without hassle. So why are we deleting pics?
It's not perfection that I look for in someone, it's how they handle their mistakes. Props go to the customer service.

The weld bead looked like it was layed down by a 12 year old asian kid or a Oregonian Pothead needing his next Toke......the seattube sure looked like a 1/8th inch of metal was ground away as well.

Think the OP deleted it cause he neglected to tell everyone thing was a discounted castoff frame from Turner. Nobody would have sided with him if it was known he got a blemished frame as advertised by Turners staff and webpage.

1200 bucks new is better then what he could have gotten used off Ebay and DT was willing to give him back his money.

Turner wouldn't have knowingly sold a frame that wasn't safe or that they wouldn't have wanted their name on. That's destroying your own reputation. There was no way to tell from the pics how bad is was either.

I'm not saying the frame was not safe.......I was saying the frame was not up to the usual customary perfect esthetic weld beads that SAPA normally lays. The fact is Turner was willing to refurb it and offer it at a great savings to a customer who is pining for a new Turner. If It was in my size I would have bought it.

The OP got the frame for half of normal........hell you can't have expected perfection and talking to a saleman whether bike, car, boat, gun, etc will always tell you the cheap item is perfect better then new.....but a good consumer will know you don't get something for nothing in this world.

DT needs operating capital like everyone else......he doesn't do people favors cause we are all his Bros......but he does stand behind his products and knows when to quash internet rumors faster then any other manufacturer on MTBR without getting into a pissing match.

This wasn't a "discount castoff" no such product . It wasn't purchased on the closeout page either - I stated exactly what the salesman told me about the frame. I deleted the posts because my original intention was to get an opinion on the weld / grinding not cast a shadow on Turner's integrity or sales practice. I am fully happy with the customer service Turner has provided in this situation. It was a simple oversight. Once again my apologies go out to Turner Bikes. I rode my RFX today and had a blast and will continue riding Turner's

The person grinding on Turner and the person not happy with Turner's customer service is qbert2000. Does qbert even own a Turner?

We went through a similar thing recently. I emailed DT asking about size small Spots. Turns out there were none to be had- the Asian market had just hoovered up the remaining stock of small sizes. He looked around and found a used frame and we got it for a price similar to Keen's. It showed up with a dent in the downtube. Naturally, I plastered the interwebs with Barny's shocked reaction:

So that's not the one with the floral stickers. Tell Barny she needs to take it easy in those boulder gardens. :p
Really though, it isn't under the 'N' in Turner is it? Almost looks really big in the pic.

Another thing, do you just have a sling of jokes lined up? I mean c'mon she's riding on pavement! ;) :D

where am i grinding on turners cs? looks like the op was confused about what he was getting and he's claiming miscommunication. if he was told refurb used frame and got it for 1200, i wouldn't expect turner to send him a new frame in lieu of him being unhappy with what he got for $1200. it was stated by the op his "new turner" showed up with the seat tube/taco that was pictured. after the whole story comes out, looks like dt did all he could in this situation.

and no, i currently don't own a turnen. i've owned two, is that enough for you? they don't have anything on the market that i'm interested right in right although i'd like to demo an 11 spot to see how the changes worked out.

don't know how close to new price you paid but it looks like you are getting screwed a bit by dt's response of just your money back and no frame.
This is qbert grinding on Turner's customer service. "Dude, you so got screwed, you got all your money back."

Apparently qbert thinks that in today's economy getting a full refund is getting screwed. Go figure.

That's right. Homers don't ride their bikes as they are merely trophies.

He's probably not really itching to hit the trails or anything..

Not getting screwed is having the bike you want at a fair price. The op has been quoted saying that this bike would be "better than new".

Notice how the OP was made out to be the bad guy (by DT himself) stating he was trying make it seem like he got ripped off. Not at all. Sounds like the manufacturer was the on trying to pull a fast one, and almost got caught with their pants down. By the looks of all the deleted posts, it was swept under the rug just in time!

What a hassle for a customer, and not even an apology. Instead he gets a nice pistol whipping.

Score one more for the HOMERS!
biker_faux,
You post absolutely nothing of contribution ever. I'm tired of hearing your b.s. I own an Intense, a Niner, and a Turner. I am not speaking for Turner or this forum when I say, "Stay in the New Mexico forum." As soon as you decide to disclose opinions that are backed by evidence, ie "I ride a Maestro suspension and here's what I like about it..." then you are welcome to post in a thread. Until you have something productive to add then keep your ranting to yourself. You obviously are bent on some beef with DW and his licensees, we understand that.

actually the op is the one who seemed bent. it was his own words that he said he was told the bike he was buying would be better than new. it obviously wasn't.

regardless if he got his money back, he's still now without a bike and refund or not he didn't get what he was told he was going to get. a refurrb bike better than new. great he got his money back, but he should have with the way that frame looked.

economy or not are you saying he's lucky to get his money back for that pos frame he received?? him getting a refund is a given. getting that frame in the first place is the real issue. that whole taco area looked like crap and he got the frame from turner direct.

he bought a refurb frame he was told was better than new, had the frame shipped to him. sees it's a pos and wonders what's up. gets a refund and has to ship the frame back. no bike to ride during the whole period. cash back or not he's out time and a ride and the crappy frame came from turner direct and now everyone should stand back in awe of turner's great cs for giving the guy back his money for a pos frame?? ok:rolleyes:
