Well I never considered a Giant unil today and I think I'm sold. But I have a delima. First this bike is for my Fiance. He rides hard and he weights 195lbs. Now we don't jump big or take big drops. I would say 3 feet or so to both of thosee and he never really drops onto flat ground.
So... Trance or Anthem for him? Currently we ride a lot of single track with short steep up and down hill sections where handling is important due to rough rocky terrain. There is one bowl in the course with a few drops a couple feet to a down hill landing and some jumps to get a couple feet of air on the trail. Many tree gates. A person we ride with has a Trance but I'm wondering if an Anthem would be better. Would it handle this?
More, we are moving to Germany at the end of the year so that terrain will also be a consern for this decision. What if the terrain is worse with more jumps or drops... I'm sure it will have more climbs than we currently see in North Texas...
Tonight is my fiance' first race and I think this might be something he does a couple times a year... So which would you choice? Please help...
Oh ya, which model of each is spec'd the best for the $$ and where is the best place as far as prices to find one?
