Long story short but I have 1 car with a 2" hitch and another 1.25" hitch, also I tend to park outside in busy areas so I wanted a rack that is easy to take on and off and I would prefer not to use hitch adapters since they introduce play and another potential point of failure. The Swagman fits the bill better than the T2/holdup but can it handle 70-80lbs of bikes with 2.5" tires?

I've been wondering the exact same thing. I have a 1.25" hitch as well and need a rack for two DH bikes. The Thule is nice, but the Swagman is literally half the price here. I always see lots of them (Swagman racks) at the lift accessed hill, so I guess that says something about it...

I met a rider at the trail with the sportrack 2EZ carrying a well built Demo8. I had been thinking of getting that same rack, so I asked how it works for him. He said he drove from Whistler BC to NB (way out in Eastern Canada) with the Demo 8 and his wifes bike on the rack which both bikes together weighed 87 pounds... So I bought the rack the next morning and love it. folds small, and I can use it on my van with a 2" receiver and my matrix with a 1.25" receiver!
