Looks like I might be the only one who visited the Walk-In-Clinic on the way home -

Egg Beaters look nice and smooth from far off, but take one to the shin at the top of Couch and you might bleed for a while till the EMT can bandage it up.... not that i would know. ;) if you're not too squeamish here's an 'after' pic with 4 stitches in place: http://gallery.mtbr.com/showphoto.php/photo/319138/size/big/cat/510

Finished long course ~20 minutes faster than my intermediate course from last year. I'm pretty happy with that.

Great race. Already looking forward to next year! :)

Remedy? Some of that stuff in the video looks pretty tech and video usually makes stuff look more tame than it is.
I was on my Mojo and at no point thought more travel was required.
That stuff was all easy with the right speed and a dropped seat. Going too slow is probably what gave most riders a hard time.

You're not the Lone Ranger

There were 2 injuries on the Gas Can (1st descent) that required medical attention. One was a NASTY 4" gash on a rider's cheek. The other was a dislocated thumb plus shoulder (maybe a separation). Both those guys went to the ER. I'm amazed we've never had a serious injury on the Couch.

That's a huge time improvement, congrats:thumbsup:

Yes Dan, you have now reached the upper echelon of good descenders. No need to brag :p :p :p

Thanks for that EPIC footage of me pushing my bike up the hill, Hans.

I was at the high point of the course, but at the low point of my race.
Sorry Sasha! I think that section was also the lowest point for me. And I'm guessing many others. And that footage just shows the torture. Oh, and at least we weren't on the side of the trail stretching out the cramps of death like I did last year.
