Need help identifying a Marzocchi fork

My LBS has Marzocchi fork. I think it's a 22RLO but it looks different from the one on the Marz website ( http://www.marzocchi.com/template/detailProdotti.asp?LN=UK&idC=1561&IdFolder=113&IdOggetto=56798# ).

Does anyone know exactly what model this is? I'd like to read reviews on it before I buy one.

Any suggestions on buying one of these? I think almost anything is a step up from the Dart 3 I have now.

Of course I could ask the shop, but they don't speak English and my Chinese is pretty limited, so I was hoping one of you could do a positive ID on this thing for me.

An MZ Comp going from the simple preload adjusters... HELL the damn sticker identifying the model is right there on the right fork leg. Try READING the decals next time before wasting our time.

Well excuse the hell out of me. That's a pretty harsh comment coming from someone who didn't read the sticker on the fork himself. If it were an MZ Comp I believe it would say so right on the fork wouldn't it? This one says MZ Race. Is it the same thing? The shop has several of them, so I figured it was a current or 2009 model but it's not on the Marzocchi website. I couldn't find any reviews for this fork on this website going back to 2007. I haven't found any technical info on this thing yet on the internet either, but I'm still looking. Since you know soooooo much about Marzocchi forks (and from your pompous attitude I presume also all things pertaining to mountain bikes), perhaps you could be gracious enough to share with me from your great fount of wisdom the following: 1) is it a good fork I should consider buying, 2) what year it was made, 3) will it go rigid in cold weather?

Obviously, I am trying to learn something about this fork. Answers to questions like these would be helpful. Replies like you posted are not.

If it's such a waste of time to read the thread, why would you take up more of your time to reply? To the TS, good luck with info on the fork, sorry I'm not familiar with this one!

Don't know what year it is but MZ has been very much the low end of XC forks. Also used as an OEM fork on not all that great bikes.

At least 'zocchi's 2005 manual mentions MZ Race but it is not listed as a 2005 fork. So it must have been OEM that year.

In 2008 there was MZ Supercomp with post mount for disc brakes....

I doubt the MZ would be much of a step up.

(I am running an MX Comp Air on one bike, and it is doing its job. Wouldn't touch an MZ)

1. Not unless you're a cheap moron who likes heavy forks with mediocure performance but has to brag he owns a marzocchi brand fork on his bike. So obviously perfectly suited to you given our recent history of posts.

So now I'm a moron, huh? Please realize that there are a lot of people who join this site to learn because they don't know much and they realize that. Most good teachers say the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. Bad teachers insult people for asking what they perceive to be stupid questions. Unless you're going to contribute something useful I'd appreciate it if you just don't even reply to any of my posts in the future. You're not contributing anything to the site in general with posts like this.

In my opinion, this is one of the best places on the web to reach companies and their customers directly to learn about products, so if you're looking to learn and be taught, then this is the place to find real world, unbiased information that you can trust.

But the Marzocchi guy cannot really be expected to say a lot of negatives about something his company sells.

The MZ is the kind of fork that people take off of their bikes to replace it with something else.

I recall some "discussions" got a bit heated there... bit like discussions sometimes get a bit heated in some of the manufacturers' forums...

Based on what guys here have said and what little I could find on the internet about it I've decoded to pass on the MZ. The LBS has them for 1,700 RMB ($250), so I thought they might be better than my Dart 3. I didn't know it was (apparently) a leftover, low-grade OEM fork from 2007 or whenever. I'm surprised they are selling it for that much.
