WTF? On sale? How dare they do this!!! I thought these bikes were supposed to cost something like 2600,000,000. for the frame? What is the world comming to?

Nope

Usually something like this happens because the previous year's stock just needs to be moved so room for the 2010's can come in. ANY change warrants some sort of discount, and this year it will be people demanding the matching rear triangle to signify a 2010 model, regardless of no changes being made to geometry, travel, etc. I predict there will remain some people who will prefer the "2009" model simply because of the polished rear tri.

Well, here's the thing: All of our over-zealous price-comparator people loved to point out how the new bikes were way MORE EXPENSIVE than previous DISCOUNTED bikes that were also under the same status. Almost every time someone was comparing the new to the old they were comparing old bikes that were on sale, or closeouts, or under some sort of similer status. That's what keeps making the "price comparissions" rediculous.

Oh, you could get a highline or 5-spot for $1600!?? Just get in your time machine and go get one!!

so none of you guys wanted to post the Sultan price here? is CCyclist paying you to drive traffic to their site? ;)

It's $1995. The XL has a short enough top tube that it fits more guys that XL's in some other brands, so this could be a great deal for many.

Or perhaps it's the long-chainstay discount (he says with tongue-in-cheek). with more 29er FS's sporting shortish (by 29er standards) chainstays, the pressue will increase on DT to revise that aspect of the current sultan. It'll be interesting to see how short the CS's are on the sultan lite.

Got ya...

Ok Jayem, I understand. I didn't get the subtle sarcasm there. I'll try to keep up. :D

They are clearing down their limited shelf stock (hence the L & XL only reduced) for the '10 stock coming in. I know because I spoke to them last week. Seems reasonable and a good price if I fitted on such a small frame!

New Shocks for 2010 ?

The RP 23 for 2010 has this "boost valve" damping. I hear it's nice.
Does anybody know if the 2010 model year Turners incorporate 2010 Fox shocks?

... might be a change some people are looking for.

Been burned 2x buying the latest and greatest Turners.

2006 RFX, paid full list, 3 weeks later retail price was dropped to 1200.00

2008 Sultan paid less than list but a few months later the DW link was announced and the retail dropped $500.

Turner lowers the retail, I take the hit on resale value:nono:

The price on the highline dropped about $200 after I bought one.

I don't care. It's all about the ride. I don't worry about things I can't change and enjoy the bikes.

I picked up the Bronze Large right after they posted. It will be here on Friday. Pics to follow. I am stoked.
Sweet.

I was looking at the CC deal, but ended up getting an eBay XL with unused (warranty replacement) front triangle and bushings, used rear triangle, for $275 less. I'm a sucker for cheap, and I'm not too worried with Turner's transferable warranty. Should be here Wednesday, and I've got more parts on the way (Drake from Jensen, Flows and DT Comps from Mike C., M775 brakes from eBay, etc.) to complete a relatively budget upgrade from my 26er. Should be riding it by T-Day, anyway.
