JD,

How did riding a Ellsworth 29er sell you on your Hei Hei? Or do you mean that riding a Hei Hei demo sold you on it?
They (Slippery Pig) no longer had Hei Hei demos when I went so the closest thing they had to it (suspension design wise on a 29er) was the Ellsworth. The ride is very similar now that I have been on the Hei Hei as well. They both climb like goats but are close to 30lbs. I also demoed at HT Fisher and the FS was worth the weight gain.

Sounds like the same thing, I demo'd the Paragon that they had, loved it, demo'd the Hei Hei and loved it even more so I bought the demo bike for a nice deal.

Your comment about the climbing ability of the Hei Hei is the same thing I experienced too, when I came back from riding the Hei Hei and told Eric that I was surprised how it climbed better than the Paragon, he made a funny face and said "really? are you sure". Yep, I'm sure.

I'll be in Phoenix in Mid January looking to Demo a FS 29er - I'm a big guy 6'5" 240. Any suggestions?
Check with Trail Head Bike Cafe - they have Pivot 529 if you have a deep pocket.

So your the person who took the demo so I couldn't ride! Good deal.

It's a combination of the suspension and the 29er wheels that make the bike climb so well. I can crank out of the saddle without the rear will losing any traction and the suspension keeps the wheel planted even over rocks and steps. It's really something else.
