Does anybody know the weight difference between the altitude 70 carbon vs. the exact same spec'd bike with an aluminum frame? I'm guessing under half a pound.... maybe 1/3 of a pound?
With the XTR cranks it was 26.3 pounds, with the Race Face Deus cranks and Blackspire bash ring it is sitting at 26.5 pounds. A lot of carbony bits, but not as many as the factory build with the RF Next cranks.anthonyinhove said:Wow! I don't how you get a bike with a 7lb frame and a 140 fork down to 26.3lbs, but you must have some tasty kit on there.
Somehow I suspect you're not being entirely fair to the poor old SXC, after it served you so well. I'll bet most of that six pound difference is in the kit you hung on it. But I still say the most important thing for climbing is efficiency and traction. My Element is my fastest climber, faster than a hardtail with the same kit, owing I'm sure to the reduction in wheelspin.
