Saw them and think they're hilarious. Anybody know where I can purchase a pair? TIA

(please note: This thread is about SOCKS. If you feel the need to comment on the positives/negatives of a well known plant that's been used by humans throughout history, please find another thread)

I emailed the Sock Guy & got this response:

Gary,

Thank you for contacting us. The Save Missy socks were a promotion for Interbike and were run in limited quantity. These socks are not for sale, unfortunately. We decided on this particular design to show our support for Missy and have received a tremendous response from people all over the world. In case you are not aware, we can make a custom sock for you in any style, design and cuff height. The minimum quantity for a custom order is 120 pair. If you think you may want to place a custom order, please let me know and I'll give you more information about how that process works. Thanks again for contacting us.

Best regards,

Ken DeCesari

Anyone want to go in on 120 pairs? :p

120 pairs of socks @ approx $4 per pair == $480

A Brother SE-350 Compact Sewing & Embroidery Combo Machine == $348

To save about $130, buy some white socks and the SE-350 and DIY.

hmm, let's see...

save $130 but spend who knows how many hours sewing 120 pairs of socks that probably won't look nearly as good as a design done by pros.

Or spend $130 and have quality AND spend the time you saved riding.

Toughy.

Thanks for the research and info FP. I was afraid that they were a promo item only and not for general release. 120 pairs? That's a lot of socks. About 4 pair for every year of the sentence, maybe? I doubt purchasing a pair would actually help our ol' gal out, maybe I'll just send her a carton of Marlboros. Or a cake with a file baked inside. Or better yet, a pan of, uhm, *brownies*.

You have no "forward vision"?

You have no confidence in your abilities either?

You don't understand automation?

For you, it's no "toughy".

:lol:

Gee I guess I didn't realize the guy was going to set up a full manufacturing operation in order to get himself a pair. In that case, do you think one little brother sewing machine will be enough?

nope. also gonna need a little boy from the south pacific/eastern asia to do all the sewing. but they're free, so its no biggie.
