My 2 pennies...

The Giant that's listed as "a couple years old" isn't going to be a huge improvement. Unless you consider around a decade as "a couple of years, I woldn't consider that bike.

The GT seems pretty solid. I don't know what the msrp was for the bike, though. It's a better bike than what you have now. One thing to be aware of: It has a rigid fork, so you'll have no suspension. If your budget is $500 (asking price of the GT), you may want to consider heading to a local bike shop and looking around to see what you can get from them.

If you looking for a better bike, not that the Giant is a bad bike, but just forget about that one. The GT you have posted is a fully ridged 29R. Whole different type of riding style. You either swear by them, or swear at them. The GT is overall a more expensive bike than what you have now. But you might not like the ride it gives you. The real ? is, what is wrong with the Raliegh? Have you out grown it, is it failing and falling apart? It is a entry level bike, but not a bad bike by any means.

i feel i bought a frame that is a bit too big for me. I am hoping i found the bike i am after, it is a specialized 2009 comp 29er with discs, has front suspension. and only has like 100 miles on it, for 500 bucks
