Mike had his MX DHX today (mounted on a Highline). He didn't know what the knobs do, so I was explaining them to him. I expect it was set up from Push with the right amont of clicks/turns, but another thing that might be nice to know is: I'd assume the high-speed adjuster should be turned 1.5-2 turns in like on the avalanche shocks?, otherwise it lets oil bypass the circuts.

Not all applications use the floating high speed spring. We've been using the optional valve spacer in a lot of applications which allows for preload on the high speed circuit even at full open. I can't speak for Craig on what applications he's using it on, but there must be some because he offers it. Having three spring rates as well as the ability to adjust the static preload on the HS circuit are just some of the things that make this such a good valve. Pain in the a** to assemble though!

aren't you guys supposed to be at the pub?
I have an end of season Little League party tonight, so the backyard shenanigans have to wait till tomorrow afternoon!

Just checked Push's website, MX tuning isn't being shown as an option. Looks like some people have it, is it being offered to the masses yet?
We have limited availability right now and have just been building shocks for the people who's dampers have been in-house for way too long. Some peoples patience has been unbelievable. As soon as we have extra stock I will be loading it onto the website. The production units will be offered in raw finish as seen, as well as black ano. Custom colors may be available with additional wait time if requested.

Cheers for the info Darren. Will it be available in the UK via Tim Flooks?

Any idea if it works well on say....a new DW Spot? ;) :D
To damn well, you did say you wanted to trade bikes, yes???

And about the MX tune, well, Umm, Kinda like the firt time I went from v-brakes to disc....rigid fork to suspension...top mount thumb shifters to SRAM XO......do I go any further?

So is getting the custom bridge like getting the heads on your engine ported? :D
Hella cool putting the Avy HL adjuster on. That with all the Push tuning must make for one heckuva ride.
Very interesting insight on the optional preloading etc of the adjuster.

If it's available with a black body and gold bridge, I might know a guy who'd be interested. :D :p

Either way, I'm looking forward to reading more detailed thoughts on the ride.

Hey Darren, maybe your the guy who hooked me up on the 1st out the door MX mod? Its mounted to my highline like Jayem mentioned above. Alls I have to say is OH MY GOD, good thing I had some patience. This Pushed DHX MX mod is the SH!T  . The bike felt awesome in all the stuff from steeps to rock gardens to fast descents. It felt like it had bottomless travel and blew thru the gardens and stable at speed. The MX was setup at Push, I just checked the air. Didn't get any info on which knobs do what? So just left it how I got it and it felt great. Did notice a little kick up in the rear during braking, any idea if i need to adjust something?
SO IF YOU HAVE THE CASH AND A DHX, GET THE MX MOD YOU WON'T REGRET IT.
Thanks, PUSH and Darren. :)

No a la carte parts for those nowhere near who can do the job ourselves?

Please? I've got a spare DHX that I've been itching to do something with.

So Bortis, c'mon man; you've had the shock at least three days. Where's your PRO REVIEW?
There will be no review until I have at least 50 miles and/or 15,000 ft of vert on it, which ever comes first. Right now it only has about 36 miles and 7000 ft of vert :D .

Plus it's not on a Turner so I can't give it a review that would meet the "Homer" standard anyway.

I can say this though, Push was pretty much dead on with their factory settings, I played with the Hi and Lo compression and ended up getting the best ride at the factory settings. Although I did go 1 click faster on the rebound. I might post something back later in the week after I get 2-3 more rides on it.

That's a long term review; a PRO REVIEW is along the likes of:
You take it out of the box, look it over carefully, notice how shiney and smooth it is. Is it pretty?
Fiddle with the knobs; they turn clockwise, AND counter clockwise. Do they feel the same? What can you conclude about the shocks performance by the feeling of the detent positions?
Feel the weight of it in your hand; yup, feels like a good coil shock. Feels like there's lots of oil in there, and lots of fancy passageways for the oil to flow to. Who cares where, just as long as it makes squishy sounds when it compresses and extends. Now that's a nice shock!
Mount it on your bike; does it accentuate the appearance of your bike, or clash with your interpretation of bike design? This is somewhat subjective, but important. You just spent a sheetload of money; it better look right with your bike, or you're gonna have to sell one or the other.
Parking lot test: this is optional, as it involves actually making the shock move. Does it bounce? Does it bounce nicely? How much can you speculate about the shock's trail performance from the parking lot test? [Most PRO REVIEWERS don't have time or desire to actually ride a test bike in real conditions].

This is how Robb Ssutton does his PRO REVIEWS more or less
