if you had done a search, you'd see that people would tell you to stay the **** away from those things. It isnt worth the headaches.
well, i was watching the 2001 red bull pampage and wade simmons was riding on they have a 4.25 on the reviews on mtbr and pinkbike did a review of it too so unless i missed a mojor fact i dont know were your stuff is coming from

like ZEDRO said, stay away from the RM 6-7-9s. they had linkage issues. i almost bought an RM7, untill i did some research. i found a good deal on my RMX and i couldnt be happier... just look around, you should be able to find a season old RMX. call the guys at Edge Sports in Jackson Hole, that is where i got my bike. you might be able to pick up one of their EPs.

It's not opinion here, it's fact. Listen to the man...he knows what he's talking about. You mention Wade winning Redbull on a RM7...look into how many of them him, Schley, and Vanderham went through in a season. Reviews here aren't really reliable. If it was your first big bike, you may not even notice the crazy flexiness of the rear end, you might think that's how long-travel bikes just feel. A LOT of people that buy big bikes never really go big on them either. Reviews are heavily skewed sometimes....depends on your perspective.

If you talk to people with more experience and can compare the RM7 to comparable bikes (myself included, albeit my experienc on the RM7 is pretty minimal), you will find a pretty solid opinion that you should STAY AWAY. Looks cool, but that's about all it's good for...sloppy as hell in the back. And talk to anyone who actually fully uses the bike for it's intended purposes, and you will see that they virtually all have had problems. This goes for the RM6 and 9 as well, in case your curious. If you like the design and feel of the bike, go for the RMX...an 04 could be had for cheap, an 05 has a front der. The RMX has a lot better standover anyway.

plus many reviews are written within the first week or two of getting the bike, when they're all excited by how "wicked-awsome" they are. Hell i've seen reviews for some bikes made before they actually get the thing. People treat the reviews like a forum sometimes.

Rarely are reviews written after a full year of use.
