i got a small one at a pet store for my dog during hunting season, since his passing, i just hang it from my seatpost. it's annoying, but i haven't been shot yet!
mostly i'm going too slow, but sometimes i feel like i'm racing with fans on the side clanging their cowbells
gotta look for a plus when making all that noise on my SS

REI has the small ones with a magnet so you can stop the clanging when it drives you nuts. Also, contact a local bicycle advocacy group. Down here in San Diego, we give them away.

Apparently The Path ran out of the small ones and they only have the size a little smaller than a baseball. One of the friendly employees told me over the phone that, just like Boulder Pilot (funny name) said, to check out maybe REI or a hobby store like Michaels. Anyways.. Thanx for all the info fellas hopefully I'll find this elusive bell sooner than later.

i got one from the path recently, not cowbell per say but the type that you hit with the thumb and gives a high pitched "DINGGGGG" works well. though sometimes i need that thumb on a sketchy downhill with walkers/runners in the distance. i'm thinking about going cowbell as well, let us know what you decide

I stopped by REI Santa Ana with no luck. REI Huntington Beach definitely doesn't have them. I still have to stop by a craft store like Michaels. There's one nearby but I'm going mtb biking tonite. Will have to look again tomorrow. Maybe I'll just go to The Path and see if I can order one. Petco didn't have any either btw. :p

If you have an arts and crafts store near by, they have little bags of "jinglebells" for 99 cents. I just bought a bag of 8 of them last night - the mid size ones about the size of a large marble. Will these be loud enough? Who knows but the price is right. Now all I need is a "mounting kit" (zip tie).

... sorry, that's not exactly a cow bell is it...
