hey, im trying to make a descision if the rockshox domain 318 180mm frok is any good at alll.... i also have another option, the marzocchi 66 rc3, i wouldn't really like but i wouldn;t mind spending more money, but if the domain is as good, if not better, ill buy that~!

Domain is less expensive than the Marz. It can be a bit heavy, but it gets the job done.

Marz has had a lot of issues with forks this year, especially with the 66, see some of the other threads on this board.

I have a Domian 302 and I couldn't be happier with it. I have heavy duty springs put in it to firm it up a bit. Sure it's heavier than the Boxxer World Cup, but the performance is great. I've had a lot of rough hits and it's soaked them all up. I use it for dirt jumping and free ride and it's been a very dependable fork.

If you do get the Domain, make sure to keep some grease in the threades for the maxel, and be careful not to lose the springs in the QR.

For the money?....Hell yea it is! Really though the Domain is a great fork. I've had my 318 u-turn for just over a year, and have had no problems what so ever. I like it so much, I want to upgrade to the 180mm, just to get more travel. Every thing works on it, no leakage, it just keep on going. So yea, for the money its a great fork. Just for a fork, its a great fork! I'm sure the new 66's are great too. But saving the extra money you could upgrade other components as well.

thanx, hows the boxxer team, im also considering that
One advantage of the more basic Boxers is that you can upgrade to the World Cup damping cartridge fairly cheaply.

Im probably being a bit tough on the Domain. To be fair its is a reliable fork that works. For the money I think it is the best in its class.

The downside is the basic damping system cant cope with big terrain unless the fork is stiffly sprung. This in turn makes for a rough ride in rocky terrain. Also I have noticed that my Domain gets a little confused on multiable hits. The rebound and compression damping gets inconsistent, swallowing one bump smoothly and then deflecting off the next hit.

Ive been a spoiled by high end suspension. My Fox 36 RC2 can be set ultra soft but wont dive on the steeps or bottom on a 4 foot flat landing. Unfortunately it doesnt make me a better rider or make my rides more fun ...
