Mag 30, EX729, or Trail Pimp? Which one of those rims would go best for my hardtail(rear wheel)? I'll be doing drops from 4-13 feet? Weight isn't an issue at all and there all pretty much in the same price range so i was just wondering which one would be the strongest and most un bendable or will be hardest to get out of true with. This is for a hardtail.
Thnx alot.

Any one of those rims will be good. The Trail Pimps are the heaviest followed by the Mag 30 and finally the EX729. They're also the strongest to weakest in that order as well. I personally think if you were riding hard enough to break any of these rims, you're gonna do damage to the others as well so go for the cheapest of the lot (probably the Mag 30 I think)

the guys have pretty much said all there is to say...

trail pimps are the best rims youve mentioned hands down...they do weight more than the others but there strength and looks overrule...a mate of mine has a set and i love em to death...great rims...

My 2 cents

Atomlabs uses pinned joints where the mag 30 is welded. I've run the trail pimp and the mag 30. Had great luck with the mag 30 (some small dents on the wall from rocks) but hit a big drop on the trailpimp and the seam split open. The mag 30 would have a flatspot from the same drop, but the rim would still be ok to ride, the trail pimp was ruined.

The Mag 30 is actually only spot-welded, it's not a full-wrap weld. If you can wait 3 weeks for the next batch of Arrow DHX rims to ship, that would be my top recommendation. They weigh (and cost) less than the Mag 30's and the Trailpimps, have the same width as the Mag 30 and are wider than the TPs. They also have a full-wrap weld. I would say the DHX is the best-wearing, most dent and flat spot resistant rim currently on the market.

heres a review on a wheel you might want to check out if you're looking for a complete wheel, and really dont mind hugely excessive weight

I Second That

Yeah, the Arrow DHX is baddA. I'm runnin 24's right now and am thinking about building up a set of 26's. I thought the arrows were heavier, that's what QBP and BTI say, but I haven't weighed them side to side. I also hear rumor of a Tubeless version of the DHX.
