My 07 Sunday (I have the elite) has no linkage problems at all. In the past they did, but this year they are flawless from what I've seen on the IH board and at Diablo (where the Sundays are the majority). The Sunday's are at home at Diablo. I'm 250 and not smooth all the time either, but I love the bike. Depending on what bike setup you're looking at, I thinkj

The DHR is the lowest feeling and most BMX like bike out there. My buddy let me try his for a run and it was just too low feeling and had a small cockpit feel.

A Glory has a 40 on it. It's meant for racing.
I heard the newer Sunday's (07 and up) fix the linkage problem, which was much needed.

As for the cockpit on the DHR, I'm pretty sure that has to do with handlebar width, fork choice, tire size and what not, not about the frame.

And you think the DHR feels low? I don't know if he drilled it or not, but non drilled the DHR measures almost an entire inch higher than the BB height of the Sunday. Don't know where you got that one from. What year was it also?

if you're new to DH'ing why are you getting a bike thats pretty much race specific? the stab and glory aren't really, but you'd probably be better suited getting an all purpose bike. get a demo 8 or something if you're desperate to spend a bunch of money, and that way it'll be a good bit of everything

i like the glory, i rented the glory freeride at Northstar this summer and i thought it felt great, i think the fr and dh are the similar as far as feeling, besides the few different geometry things, correct me if im wrong, but count me in on a vote for the glory

You picked 3 of my least favorite bikes.

Sunday and V10: Both of these are built to race. The Sunday has a low Bottom Bracket, long wheelbase and a super slack head angle. If you wanna rip it up and race all day and all night, get a Sunday. For other DH disciplines (AKA, just DHing for fun) then I'd like to point you to a different DH bike (Morewood Izimu, Turner DHR, Rotec R9, Giant Glory). The V10 is sort of in the same boat as the Sunday, pure bred racing rig. Nothing wrong with that, just they're built for racing. I REALLY recommend test riding them. I test rode both a Sunday and V10 and didn't like either of them, and I used to think those bikes were the bee's kneez as everyone on these boards thinks, test ride them if you can.

Stab Primo: I've never been fond of Kona to be honest, the Stab's design has been around for a really long time. If the Stab is your thing, then by all means do it. From what I get from the Stab is that its heavy and sluggish, I never see them on the trails now-a-days. Correct me if I'm wrong though, I've never ridden a Stab.

I think the Glory is right up your alley. Its a pretty beasty downhill bike, with the right geometry and price. It seems more than durable, at least compared to the Sunday (Tightening linkage anyone?) If I had to choose between the options you gave me, Glory all the way.
never liked them much either. i have never really liked any of konas bike except for their dirt jump bikes. i guess they're great bikes, but i just dont like the design

I think it was an 04-05 The fork was a Boxxer WC. It seemed on the Medium frame he had, that the bar was about knee height and just a couple inches in front of you. It seemed you were on a bmx rather than a DH. That's what I was implying. I don't think it was his build that made it feel that way though. I got to try one at Platty and it felt the same. Fahn

Are you riding an 07 or 08 this weekend? I have been riding a second generation V 10 for the past 3 years, and was lucky enough to ride an 08 at Northstar all summer. They have a very similar ride feel, but the new ones have more standover clearence, and feel noticebly more nimble, mostly due to the bike being about 2lbs lighter. In three months at Northstar, nothing creeked, nothing came loose, and nothing broke but my heart when I had to give it back:sad: I have not ridden a Stab or a Sunday, but I can tell you that you can't go wrong with the V 10 if you want a pure race bike.

you are deff one lucky dude to be able to ride an 08 prototype for 3 months. if i do test a v10 it would be an 07

I prefer "Dudette" ;) But don't let that make you think the bike took any less of a beating. It was ridden hard and fast all summer, and took a couple of good wrecks to boot. Yeah, I was very lucky indeed. If you like the 07, you will love the 08.

Just my opinon....

I have ridden the sunday and it is very impressive, but the hype is definitely right...it is a race bike and pretty low slung. However, low slung bike corner better. The only time a low frame is bad is for more freeridy trails where more clearance is needed. If you wanna ride/race dh, I would have to suggest a Ventana El Cuervo.
I ride an 07 El Cuervo and it is, by far, the nicest bike I have ever ridden. 9in of active rear wheel travel is absolutley incredible, especially on nasty chunder and big drops. Yes, I do hit my pedal a little when I pedal on flat ground that is super rocky, but then again, most of the stuff I ride is not pedally at all.
The best feature of the ventana besides how slack it is is how low it is. I have NEVER ridden a bike that corners like it. Untill this summer I never thought I would be able to corner a bicycle so fast!
My advice is to definitely demo as much as you can because everyone has different preferences so when you ask "What bike should I ride" you are getting a lot of personal preference from other riders that might not hold true for you.
Hope that helps

rode a sunday for 3 seasons. going to glory next year. sundays are pretty nice, but they stick to the ground alot.........im lookn forward to aslightly more bouncy rig. i have rode a reign x all summer, if the glory handles like my reign, i will love it! try to test ride as many as u can
