bolym - looks like we will riding coed y brennin, mchynlleth and nant-yr-arian

grahamjtriggs - no real DH in cornwall. a couple of short runs here and there. there is quite a bit of freeride type stuff built by locals but nothing like wales. i find a good versatile bike really handy otherwise you just end up pushing too much when you could be riding.

heard so much bout wales and cant wait to ride long bike specific trails.

I have been in the trade myself till recently. Shops I use are leisure lakes, freewheel and most of the local small dealers round notts. Trying to keep them in business. Durham used to have a half decent shop down the street from my parents house but has gone now. God knows what else there is around there now. I don't go back so often these days

Juan - Being as you're gonna be up north. I recommend you try the Cli-machx. The last descent is one of the best in Wales. And you could try the DH at Foel Gasnach.

Also, the Marin Trail in Gwydyr Forest (near Betws Y Coed) is ace for natural style flowy XC stuff. The fireroad climb at the beginning is crossed by a couple of DH trails (none majorly technical *I think*), so those are good distractions.

Another for the marin trail. You can do the whole trail, then keep going back up the fireroad for the final downhill once you get your bearings. Just don't pay too much attention to the totem poles, you'll fall off.

Yeah, that's what we do quite often. The last downhill section is ace. And yeah, the totem poles (particularly the one with the helmet on) are ones you want to not look at too much, because at the speed you'll be coming down, you need to be looking where you're going.

Konut, how's sunny Durham today, went up a couple of months ago with the mrs to show her where I come from, we were going to go riding but I was recovering from a throat infection and just wasn't up to it. We might try and get up again and go to Hamsterly. There is some good riding to be had around Durham City if you know you're way round a bit. Anyway off to the pub, have a good one, speak soon.(pic of my bike on profile)
