I ve been looking for some new places to ride...im new here so if anyone knows of any good fr/dh mountain spots or trails to ride in new york, or as close to westchester (nyc), let me kno..

check wmba.org / nycmtb.com / brooklynbikeriders.com for just a few of the local groups to score a ride with or get a tour.
Diablo and Plattekill for sure. Highland Mountain in NH for a road trip.
There is more depending on what you are into. Also shuttle runs in NJ / PA etc.
Lot's of pedal spots with good drops and lines in Westchester or Ninham in Carmel, Trumbull etc.
Riding heaven around here.

Whiteface for not so smooth downhills:
Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid N.Y. was the mountain used for the 1980 Winter Olympics.
2,476 feet of vertical serviced by a awesome gondola. 25 to 40 minute dh runs.
Single-track and naturally challenging. Some wood features but mostly old school dh runs.
Peak foliage is also happening now.
Oktoberfest this weekend.
Columbus Day specials next weekeend 1/2 price lift tix on Sat. for all or free for all women. Treasure hunt on Sat. & Sunday, etc.
Closing on the weekend of 10-13 & 10-14.
