:D
I have threads at roadbikereview.com and here at mtbr.com and I find the people and topics to be much more real at mtbr.com.
The people at roadbikereview.com seem to have a lot more attitude and sometimes just come off as jerks.
I really like this site so much better. The topics the information and the sharing of ideals seem to be clear and friendly.

Any thoughts?

It's just you.

what are they gonna talk about? All road bikes are basically the same and there aren't really any techniques.

Far better scenario to split hairs and act all elitisty.

I love my road bike, i put more miles on it than the mtb... but i sure as hell dont want to TALK about it.

I mostly hang out here at mtbr.com, because I ride in the woods more than on the road, and because mountain bikes are where my passion lies. But I've posted in both forums, and I've really not noticed any "attitude" from the road-bike side. Actually, I recall just one person whom I found to be one of those guys who likes to stir the pot, but that "one person" seems to exist in many, many forums across the Internet. Otherwise, I've gotten along, gotten good responses, enjoyed my visits, etc.

And all this reminds me, I've not visited roadbikereview in several weeks. I should probably drop over and see what's new.

RBR is a nice change of scenery, started posting there after getting the track bike and somebody here in the SS forum told me to go virtually ride my non-mtb over that way for advice.

I feel more comfortable in mtbr but, just as with my bikes, I grew restless for something different. It does have a more uptight feel to it; even the Lounge is more contrived with its humor than the General forum here. IMO. I still don't get why it's funny to switch letters around in words, for example :skep:

That's just because rbr posters feel they already know everything and keep it to themselves, on here everyone thinks they know everything and want everyone else to realize it too...lol

There are some interesting comments about mountain bikers in the Lounge forum over there at RBR. I went trolling when I got wind of something uncool, that was said about Ms. Llanes' crash.
I want it to be known, that I don't hate road bikers though, just the guys that made the totaly inapropriate comments.

Later, Eric.

Not really. The differences and techniques are just a bit more subtle. They can have as big an affect as in mtbing.
Let's discuss.

Shifting techniques? Maybe I'm missing this because i have downtube shifters and ride my roadie like a 2 speed- highest gear for everything but the steepest climbs, where i go to the lowest gear.

Descending? Basically how fast you go is inversely proportional to how much you like your skin.

Competing????
