Here's another good one of Zane I just found- shows how muddy it is up top. The rockwork was SLICKNESS! especially goats gulley...
rode the garbonz all afternoon and didn't think the wet was an issue at all, couple puddles but the goat was fine.

heaviest moment of the day, came off the big rock roller on joyride this evening pretty fast and rolled/skidded almost into a big momma bear and two cubs chowing on a log! started fricking running (where the the heck do you go? up the roller!!) she was full on growling and coming after me! I was putting my bike between me and the bear, freaking for sure wondering if I should just throw my bike at her. helmet cam would have been sick!! she backed off and I went down schleyer instead. I'll get my full stoke report up later.

What tires so you have on your Highline?

FM said:
edit: what did bug me, was the park riding clipped in... and my specialized 2.4 enduro front tire. Too light for whistler and not sticky enough
Also, what rear tire are you running on RFX? I am looking for a good all mountain UST rear 2.3-2.5. I'd like it to roll good.

Thanks

Hit the Wasatch Crest Trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Looks like the new rig is treating you great! Nice you and Z were able to get the ladies out for some riding as well.

Park City is killer, but the climbs at altitude have been kicking my arse - not to mention the heat. Report to follow when I get back.

It is a phenomenal trail. You can actually make it an epic by starting in Park City and going over the ridge above the Canyons resort. The trail looks a lot like the Chilcotins scenes from the Collective.

 I'm picking up what you're layin' down, Alpenglow!

Did it yesterday from Guardsman's pass (shuttled) down to Mill Creek Canyon, down to Pipeline to Rattlesnake back to SLC. ~23 miles of pure bliss......with a couple of climbs that nearly made me shite out my liver out like "puke hill". :p Granted, I'm a flatlander so the 9,500 elevation up there really spanks me.

Rode today with JMH and his better half and they are incredibly cool people (not to mention incredibly fit)....we climbed up to near the crest from park city. Rode Thursday with Toni (aka Err) who is a killer dude as well and we ran into a bull moose on the trail. Scared the piss out of me. Beautiful trails, but they need rain something fierce right now.

Sweet EB, looking forward to some pics and more words...:D Bet that Toni is as fit as too.... Hard to get used to elevation in a hurry....

Watch those moose, any issues with Caribou, GeoLover knows them well, could give oyu some tips for sure....:D :D :D

Things change quickly up there, they got a lot of rain the week before I was up there, then it rained heavily July 2nd? Glad to hear it's drying out. I can't wait to go back up!

I'm running michelin comp 24 DH 2.5's, tubeless, on the highline. They are heavy and roll slow but I trust them completely. :)

RFX, I'm running a hutchinson octopus 2.35 UST in back, great tire- highly suggested. It's similar to a maxxis high-roller, but a better size weight/combination. The 2.35 is really an honest 2.4, and the casing is durable without being porky. If you want something for all conditions, try these.

I was running a specialized enduro 2.4 2bliss on the RFX in front and HATED it. It's a huge XC tire. The casing is thin and flexy, folds over easily so you have to run a lot of pressure on rough terrain. The rubber's also fairly hard. It's a good trail tire, but not a good FR tire at all IMHO. I burped it on both dirt merchant and goats gully despite running lots of pressure.

I had huge issuse with that tire on 819s. but they are 100% solid on DT5.1s with the DT tubless kit. just an FYI. ;)

Style doesn't know altitude!

Besides, polyester is the perfect wicking material for 90+ deg. days..... :p :p
yep, 90+ F and 90+ % humidity sucks the big one..............:nono: :nono:

Ebxtreme, How do you ride in heat w/out gloves?

Mine too. My gloves went on (along with my helmet) once we finished the big climb up to Shadow Lake. I was less worried about my hands slipping on this climb than I was passing out! ;)

Whafe, the heat here is crazy right now, but the humidity is super low. Didn't matter, I was still sweating like a whore in church.....
