oddsandendos sells a nice set of lightweight skewers

The WTB hubs don't come with skewers if you want skewers go with the American Classic hubs but those are $60 extra. Go for the WTB's and buy yourself a nice pair of skewers for a lot less.
The steel skewers Mike sells are lighter than a cheap titanium pair I bought a while back. He sells an even lighter titanium set.

Heres the reasoning I use regarding the steel bolt ons...

When theres air beneath the alxes(and me), and also this key "closier" to a significant box section to an otherwise inherantly light and flex prone suspensioned mtn bike frame, I want the best I can get with the least amt of weight thats usuable during the times its most needed. Period. I have 4-5 sets of ti QRs and use them all the time. But..when I absolutely what the best I can offer for the most demanding times I ask my bike to perform during such, I want at least 1 set of steel bolt ons. Since they are so cheap(got mine from Mike as well), whats the hard part here(for a change..eh?) When racing, if you have to pull either wheel off, your gonna be changing a flat. 99.5% of the time. I've gotta go into my "kit" anyway, soooo....I place a small L shaped 6mm allen with my tube(under a big rubberband cut from an old tube), 1 plastic tire iron, and of course a big air is in there somewhere or on my seatpost. Only tool i carry short of a spare powerlink(except that one race last year..damn!). Best weight..best performance(less flex cause you can tighten it the correct secure way AND its steel)...and its even faster when done right. Day to day, i use the QRs. No biggie there.

Oh, for the Amclassic/WTB wheels...have 3 wheels built and they have been trouble free for a good time now.
