So what's the difference between these "levels" of fork? Is the 454 lighter? Does it have more adjustments? Are the higher levels worth the money?

I'm not sure about lighter. There are both aluminum and steel versions of steer tube on the Pike but I don't know when you get what. Also, the Dual Air version is going to be the lightest, followed by the Air U-Turn. And if you're concerned about weight, skip the gimmicky PopLok. The model numbers just change the adjustments and locations (internal vs. external). From what I've read, the external Flood Gate has more range of adjustment than the internal but I'm not sure it's worth anything. Overall, RockShox has way too many model combinations most people to comprehend. Check SRAM.com for all the specifics on which model has what.
I'm pretty sure their specs cover the differences exactly.
