Anyone know where to get one for cheap? With my lbs discount its like 300+
I want to find one in 7.875"x2.25" I think. I know its 7.875, but unsure of stroke.. Anyway, is there any place you can find used ones for cheap? mtbr/rm/pb/nsmb has none that fit less than 250... Its the shock that comes on the SC Bullit I think. Stock on the bullit.. anyone got one for cheap?

Haro X6
Freeride
Because I want a light freeride shock, that saves weight without sacrificing performance.

Renegade, are you Troy?
One of the guys with beer/alcohol in his avatar is troy.. I forgot who though

To Err.. I work at a bike shop, so I can get a pretty good discount off list. But I am looking for something $235 shipped. I have a bid on Ebay for cheap right now, but 3 days are still left :/

No, I'm not Troy. Reason I asked the questions is that the DHX-A is notorious for a lack of mid range support, which means it wallows in it's travel, and blows through it's travel very easily. I treid it, and many guys I know have tried the shock, and we all sold them. We all varied in weight from 160 to 230 pounds, and no amount of PSI in the shock corrected it's flaws. Now Fox CLAIMS they have addressed that for 2008, but untill riders prove it, I wouldn't buy into that statement.
So If you are looking for an air shock for your bike, I would recommend a fox RP23, which they make in that size, and a ROCO air. The RP23 has a solid reputation. and is not just an all mountain shock anymore. It's the stamdard shock on the 2007 turner RFX for example. The roco air: I had some interest in this shock, I started a thread in the suspension forum, and got some good answers, plus there are a couple more good threads about it. Do a search under "ROCO air". Plus the ROCO is less expensive that the DHX-air in general, and you may be able to buy it for less than you can get your DHX deal.

Edit: here's a link to the thread I mentioned about the roco air: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=294425&highlight=roco+air

Keep in mind that air shocks still have over heatin problems when it comes to freeriding and Dh racing. It might be wiser for you to stick to a coil and get a Ti spring to save weight.
In theory, yes, in actuality.... I wouldn't buy into that statement. I used my DHX-air on extended dh runs at local resorts, and I had no issues with overheating.
Plus, the original poster says he's free-riding, not DH racing, so overheating is probably not an issue for him.

True, I am Freeriding, not racing. Anyway, I talked to my boss, he had a DHX5 also, and he didn't like it. He said it was too linear. So, there's a Manitou 4x sitting in the shop that I can pick up (brand new from a bottlerocket) for $175. or, I can find something else, online for cheaper (used ofc)
Anyway, thanks for all the help guys

If your doin it for weight purposes, there is probably alot of places on your bike that will save weight without as much compromise. I personally think that air shocks and ti springs should be used as a last resort when you have lost all the weight you can in other places
