For about $700 you can have Spicer or Clockwork make you a custom frame that solves all your problems. I think it's worth the extra few hundred $ to get something that actually fits. Plus you're supporting independent frame builders, which is always a plus.

That's what I'd recommend.

I've had about six guys in the 6' 5" to 6' 8" height range try my custom Curtlos. (I have three of them - two 26" steel hardtails and a 29er FS). All of these guys were riding stock XL frames that they though fit them well. But not one of those dudes didn't want a custom frame after they tried mine.

Curlto will do a steel hardtail for $755.00.

I hate those old englisch units ;)

I'm 195cm and have an inseam of 99.5 cm. I have a 21" (or XL) SIR which fits me fine. My Thomson post is extended a long way but not till the end. Running a shorter stem now with mary bars, which is to high for my liking. I will switch the bar to get a better (euro style low) fit.

I think it depends on your inseam if an off the shelf frame will fit. The OnOne will fit you all right, so are more 21" seat tube, ~64cm toptube bikes

At 6'4" and 115lbs wjith long arms and 35"inseam I feel your delima. No more however, after much agonizing, I went with a stock 23" El Cap. Could not be happier. First bike to ever truley fit. Great customer service as well. I know Sherwoood will customize anything that you require. Good luck

Tell me you meant 215 lbs. Otherwise, you may be a resident of flatland.

My first foray into 29er is an On One ScandAL - have a search for my review of it on this forum somewhere - and at 6'7" tall, with a 40" standover weighing 250 lbs it is a great bike - with a 420mm seatpost, but an awesome XC bike. If I were in the USA, I might have gone for something else as you guys have all the choice! My next purchase, when I wear out the ScandAL a bit, will be a custom hard-tail 29er - that has to be the choice if you can afford it!

After researching 29er hardtails, I am looking for some experienced advice on a purchase. At 6' 6'' 220, I find myself at the extreme of stock frames. Short of purchasing a custom build, does anybody have any suggestions for a frame.

I am currently looking at a On-one Inbred. :madman:

thanks in advance....
There's a large ti 29er frame on the Everti specials page for $975. 66cm TT, 59cm ST, 16cm HT.

6'5" here...

I'm 6'5" 205lbs and have an 07 GF Paragon and love it. I only replaced the seat post with a 410?mm Thomson (the largest one they make) and the flat bar with a riser bar. I have a 36" inseam and huge wingspan as well and think it fits great.

for what it's worth - I also have an XL Superlight that fits fine as well with a long seatpost with setback. I've only ridden it twice since I got the 29er though...I'm thinking of selling it to get a Niner Full Suspension.
