I've got a 2000 Specialized Enduro that has been a good bike for a long time for me. It's starting to get to the point where it is questionable if I should continue its upkeep. My dream bike would be a Santa Cruz Heckler but there are no local shops that carry it. The local bike shop has an '05 Enduro for $2000. I've been avoiding it because of the temptation... Just curious if anyone knows about what the size ranges of the Enduro are, the specialized website doesn't say. What the shop has is a large, and I assume I would want a medium. My old enduro is a size 17, I bought it used so I'm not sure if it is the best size for me. Oh yeah, 5'10" 32" inseam. I'd ask the local shop but like I said I'm avoiding them, just being in the presence of those bikes is hard. If you want to reccomend a different bike make my day. :thumbsup:

but nada, mang.
Find a dealer, take a drive, post begging someone to let you peddle their bike around, etc.

If it is your dreambike, find one and try it! I would start there.

Nicely said. Go to Cambria Bike...pick up a frame for $1000 and then get a sweet build kit off jenson usa. I did what you are thinking about, I wanted a Heckler, but money and the urge to ride forced me to get a bike I really did not need.

I really love those Hecklers they are awsom, if your heart says Heckler you need to get one.

As another option the Ibex Asta is sweet. Like the Heckler it can take a beating & smiles the whole time. Very tight handeling 4X type corners, smooth XC type riding & agressive AM terain & oh heck throw som mild DH just to give it a grinnnn.

I too have been dreaming about a heckler. I've recently verified that my LBS can order a complete 06 for less than 1600. Check with Sept 06 issue of mountain bike action for a huge story on the heckler... Livin in Phx and I'm thinkin this is my best bet.
