having worked in the printing industry, I understand it's more difficult to keep print ads up to date. I don't have as much web experience, but I would think it would be relatively easier for CBO to keep that up to date. That's my only issue. Otherwise, I'm down to support Central Coast business. SLO-life!

I think they are willing to do more than most shops

They honored a typo error advertisment on a Minute 3 fork for $349 for me last month. In the past they have pricematched ebay (buy it now) pricing on new stuff. I don't see many shops willing to do this.

On the other hand, they don't seem to have a handle on what they have in stock. It sometimes takes several days for them to tell you it is out of stock. I don't think they realize they are out of stock until they go to fill the order.

This is my big complaint. I ordered 3 things that I needed from them a while back. As an afterthought, I ordered a cheap pump ($12) for my wife. It turns out that the 3 items that I needed were out of stock and not coming in anytime soon. Instead of calling or emailing to see if there was anything that I would like instead, they just sent the pump and hit me with $8 shipping. By the time I found out, it was too late to cancel the order. I could have sent the pump back, but they wouldn't have refunded the shipping either way. It was my first, and definitely my last order from CBO.

They always send me a email when an item is backordered

and ask me if I want to change or cancel the order. I just received one last week. I did not receive confirmation of the non backordered items being shipped until the day after I responded to the email.

I'm neck deep on a CBO purchased '04 XT disc set, IS, well shipping was OK, but after explaining to the salesman I wanted both F&R with all that goes with installing them (center lock hubs). I get the brakes but no bleed kit or tool to lock the disc on the hub. Well they send them down to the Cambria store and its a 40 mile round trip drive for me well fine, but nooooo got the rear brake on and time for the front caliper and oh crap sent the wrong caliper not IS its post mount, well now I got to get an adapter. Pricing was bad, 115 for the front and 120 for the back when Shimano price fixing is 104 and even their enclosed broshure said 104, so I call back wanting some credit, sorry charlie they claimed typo... oh well at least they floated me the center lock tool and the bleed kit. I spend $$$$/year there, but its rarely a trouble free purchase, but its my LBS so grin and bear it.

Another endorsement for Cambria

I doubt that you are likley to find anyone with any better customer service then Cambria. I have outfitted more than three bikes with parts from these guys and yes they make mistakes from time to time but they have the best prices, bar none, and they have never given me a hassle returning products or giving me a price match. They do however make you pay for return shipping but they have always credited the amount back to me once they recieve the merchandise.

You should try calling again and give them a second chance. Besides I am willing to put with a little fustration if I can save enough money.
