Last Sunday when I was getting ready to leave our house to ride with a buddy, my 6 year old son asked me, "Dad, do you think that one day you can show me where you go mountain biking?" I told him, "I'll tell you what. When it's your birthday this summer, we'll go out and buy you a new mountain bike so that you can go riding with dad. What do you think about that?" He replied, "That would be great."
Ah, my daughter never wanted to go mtn biking with me, but my little son has expressed an interest! So, I'm thinking about the Specialized Hotrock 20 w/ 6 speeds. He needs both front and rear brakes for safety, and I think the little susp. fork will help to this end as well.
He's outgrown his 16" wheel Spider-Man coaster brake bike, so I thought that this would be a good upgrade.
Any opinions or suggestions about some other good 1st time mtn bikes for a little guy who's turning 7 this summer?
