Enjoying the dawg

Hey...I got an 06 Dawg Primo and enjoying it. Just got back in from a little spin in the woods. Someone put up ramps, teeter totters, banking and that. First time riding 10 feet in the air with clipless pedals...yikes...Lots o fun though. I guess what i normally would say. If your looking for a light bike this isn't it. If your looking for a solid bike that you can ride and know it shouldn't let you down the dawg is a good option. 5" of travel with the rp3 in the back works well. Mine has fox forks on it and so far that are super smooth. Hayes brakes are working well, not sure if as good as juicy's but they have worked well for me...second bike with hayes on it. It's so much personal preference...do some test rides and see what bike feels right...the dawg felt good for me but that market has a lot of great options. J

Coiler

I agree totally on the Coiler. Depending on what you are truly looking to do with the bike...the coiler has some extra weight to lug around. Unless you are sure you need the extra travel, or have the $$$ to spring for the Coilair i'd stay true to the dawg. J

I just got a Dawg Supreme frame about three weeks ago. I built it up with some parts I had here. Put a Z1 on it this past weekend. I had an AM3 but I like coils up front. I'm very happy with the bike on all levels. It handles great both at speed and in the tight slow stuff. The RP3 took a bit to get dialed but I'm pleased with it now that I have it working right. I've hit plenty of 3 footers with no problems. I'm 5'9" and I got a 17. I can cram the seat down and really use some body english on steep descents.

All in all I'd give it two thumbs up. I'll get to try it in Phoenix on Thursday. Quite different from NC mtn. singletrack.
