Question to anyone using non-wireless dropper on the Epic (Evo) 7: Do you use a foam sleeve inside the downtube to cover the dropper cable housing? Or do you also use a foam sleeve inside the seattube? I already have foam sleeves covering the rear brake hose and the mechanical rear derailleur cable housing. I've tried a third foam sleeve on the dropper post cable housing, but I find that the cable housing does not slide that easily with the foam sleeve surrounding it (probably sticky friction from the other 2 foam sleeves), which is likely to make the replacement of the cable housing in the future quite tricky. In fact, the dropper cable needs to be able to slide +/- 200 mm at least (that's the insertion depth of my dropper) whenever I need to remove the dropper from the frame, and just by testing this with the foam sleeve installed, I have found that the dropper cable housing slides much less freely within the frame than without a foam sleeve in place (I guess this is due to the already mentioned friction caused by the other foam sleeves + the foam sleeve getting stuck and piled up at the BB area when pulling the dropper cable up with the dropper from the seat tube + the sharp angle transition for the dropper cable from downtube to seattube and the narrow passage for the cable at the main pivot on the seattube, which could trap the foam sleeve when pulled backward as the dropper is pulled out of the frame). In short, is it just better to run the dropper cable housing without a foam sleeve? Or, if you use a foam sleeve, how do you ensure the smooth sliding of the cable housing without getting the foam sleeve potentially stuck around the BB (which would also block the cable housing running within it)?

Perhaps use a thinner inner+outer cable for your dropper? That may slide better within a foam sleeve, so the sleeve can perhaps stay put. Depends on the type of foam too I guess. Otherwise, get an (non SW) epic 8 ;-)
I was tempted by those special thinner cables, but they definitely have durability issues. The foam is the standard "Churo" shipped as stock by Spesh (I also have the Jagwire aftermarket ones, which are identical).
Epic 8 geo is not for me (I much prefer the previous EE7)

There is a lighter foam available that has less friction / a bit more internal room. I bought mine at r2 for my (now sold) Mach 4 SL:
A bit more vulnerable though. And you can always buy an AXS Reverb ;-)
Thanks, I've just realized that the stock foam shipped with the bike is also slightly narrower than the Jagwire I had issues with. I've now managed to insert it into the downtube (and cut it shorter by the amount of my dropper insertion, so that I can slide the cable with the foam back and forth in the downtube :)
