I'm doing it. Well, did it, but seems the universe is saying no since I bought some already, not even thinking they were 31.8 clamp and my stem is 35mm. So that's where the internet comes in. Do you run 31.8 stem over the 35mm. Why?

Thinking 3" rise, 780mm wide should be good? Moar? I like nice things. What's the bars to get?

I'm not scared of carbon.

31.8mm bars tend to be more compliant all things being equal, but they're rarely equal.

OneUp makes comfy 35mm bars if you want to buy something and keep your current stem.

Or, there are shims you can buy to run the 31.8mm bar you bought in your 35mm stem.

I prefer minimal rise, but haven't really noticed any difference switching between my bikes with the two stem diameters. I will only say that I prefer the 35mm bars purely for aesthetic reasons, as frame tubes have got bigger it, the thicker bars just seem to look better.

Some of the Ti riser options look gooooood. And the Milhouse, if youse want carbon.

Drug dealer mentality for me with Ti. Buy some bolts.. Mmkay... Buy some cranks... okie dokie.. Oh look at me I'm buying a black sheep... Stopped myself dead in my underpaid tracks RFN. No, bad. no.

I run 31.8's on everything. Stiff enough and more options for what i want. I tried one set of 35's as they came on a bike. So absurdly stiff that I took them off and didn't give any other 35mm setup a chance.

My current goto for risers is the Whisky Milhouse. Light, tall, carbon, 16 degree sweep, and expensive. Everything I'm looking for (well, except the expensive bit). I believe they are damn near impossible to find now, too.

I solve that problem by buying bikes with skinny tubes.

Back on topic, I've owned one 35mm bar, and it was terribly harsh. I've never had a problem with a 31.8mm bar. That includes an inexpensive (relatively) 820mm alloy bar with an integrated crossbar that I cut down to 780mm and run on a hardtail. And they have 50mm rise and 12° sweep, for anyone interested in those measurements: Handlebar Alloy Supa-Riser 820 / 31.8 | FARR

Man. Your bike is like the poster child for modern bike buzzwords.
Mullet-check
165mm cranks-check
High sweep riser bar-check
Oval chainring-check
Boutique steel fs frame-check
Coil shock-check
220mm brake disc-check
Adjustable saddle angle-stay tuned...

Am I missing anything? 😄

Yes and yes.

Thanks. And I think the Universe has me wired to go full faff/alt/quirky/gizmo to balance out my brother who rides a bone stock Santa Cruz Tallboy and wears nothing but Fox gear.

They're discontinued :(
We've asked QBP several times when/if they're planning on a replacement - nothing so far.
