Glad I don't have to deal with the Midpen police anymore. What a waste of taxpayers money. Rode up TRT today down Ocelot, Jack Pine. Good times.

Found some gnomes yesterday 😄
1) To be fair, they only ever caught me being bad (Speeding in a blind corner. On a weekend).

2) Faucking 'little people' litter, bah humbug!

Ok, I need my bike back and a ride :cautious:
(for reference and sympathy)

Quick Truckee report from the past week:

- Alder Creek center trails in Tahoe-Donner were in great shape but I was optimizing for N* on this trip and brought the wrong bike for that place. Seems like a good place to bring beginners to work on basics. Flying Squirrel was fun but over way too quickly.

- Jackass was in remarkably good shape considering that it’s late July. I love the new feel of the place with all the trees that have been cleared and more open sight lines. In 5 years or so when the meadows fill in it will be lovely. I really missed riding HKP and Jellystone but the logging was very active while I was there and the scrap heaps on the active operation area are intimidating. I did see fresh tire marks emerging from the HKP -> Jackass transfer trail, so I guess not everyone is heeding the closure.

- N* was fun but we somehow managed to leave right before the rain started and I missed my chance to repeat last year’s glorious N* hero dirt moment. The bottom of Gypsy is in horrible shape - the hardest feature on that trail now is the sharp right hander at the bottom with the pavers - it has eroded so badly that you’re better off just plowing through the dust pile on the inside line than trying to actually ride the corner (which of course is only making things worse). Someone there needs to fix it.

HITG was great today after yesterday's rain
Did you get out early? We were hiking at Tahoe Donner around 11am and got soaked and hailed on. Had to hole up in the hut with a bunch of riders for almost an hour.

Rode local after a tough week of long hours. Everything was running great till I was gearing up to gun the last drop on a local favorite. Saw this:

I usually boost this drop so land really far down the trail… right where there was a huge downed tree. Whoever put that stick there absolutely saved my ass!

Rode home after that then came back with the saw…

And before anyone asks, yes I thought about making it another jump but it was too close to the drop landing. It would’ve been a super high risk feature after land the drop. If you look at the log cuts though they are all strangely almost exactly 4’ wide haha. You can probably guess why :)

Hitting the magical drop line of Stop, Drop, and Bro (SDAB):

This thing has 8 drops in a row, most near the same size as the A Line rock drop. one is a trail gap. Cross a bridge then its gap jump after gap jump (x10). A true local classic!

Up north for work, but … I got to ride Duthie today :) Man for jump progression this place really is amazing! I spent a bit of the day working on Semper Dirticus. It’s at my limit for sure so was being careful. Spent the rest of the day lapping HLC and Gravy Train. Gravy Train got a face lift this year, bye bye tables, after the first jump it’s all gaps now and the last 4-5 got a lot bigger!

I did not choose wisely for my shirt color given the environment. I was like a ninja silently flying through the woods!

Tomorrow … back to Duthie or Tiger???
