We stopped at a remote campsite for an MRE supper. Belle got creative with Reese's Pieces and pound cake.

After a two week vacation on a cruise ship thru the "Inside Passage" of southeast AK (Ketchikan, Juneau, Haines, Wrangell, Stika, Hoonah, Klawock) , nice to be back in Sycamore (Santee) canyon to see the last of the thistles. I only gained about a 1/2 pound the whole trip. Truth be told, it was 1/2lbs per day. Cheers!

Tart and lightly sweet - with many black seeds. Unique flavor, but I'm seeing "Prickly Pear Flavor"ed things now. Order some Prickly Pear Syrup if you want to know....

As said above. Always liked them raw but sure are no fun to clean. Has fine little needles so they sneak into you pretty easily. The jellies and jams are real good. Haven't tried the syrup.
