It's time the trail builders tap into the graffiti tanks and run water lines along the trails on campus like on LiveWire. These conditions are unacceptable.
I'd rather they used them to install misters along UConn.

I wrapped up my week+ in Sun Valley after eight straight days of riding. A highlight was re-finding this place I photographed on 9/1/2023 when it was smoky there.

Our last ride was a circumnavigation of Bald Mountain, climbing for almost 8 miles mostly on a skinny, fairly sketchy loose rock surface (top picture, which I can’t seem to move to the right place on my phone 😣), then 3 miles of the same downhill and finally 3 miles of more modern flow. It’s one of those rides you aspire to have done more than to do, but the scenery is all-time.

Oh, I took another type of ride too.

Blue Lake reminds me a lot of Rotorua / Madeira style enduro tracks. Definitely not my strength hahah but it was a fun change of pace for me. I did 4 laps so hit most of the goods including Half Rack/interlude/Woodstock/Bollywood /Hey Y’all, then Rat Tunnel to Wood Rat, In the Gnome of Love, and Pits to Okie Dokie. I ended up 12.5/3.4’.

Wow, have they built a bunch of new trails there? I hadn’t looked at their Trailforks for a while and it looks much more extensive than I remembered.

There were a few new ones not on Trailforks as well. A couple of unsigned ones that always peaks my curiosity!

Rode around Waddle ranch plus where I wasn't supposed to be by mistake Saturday and did a fun loop around Sawtooth today. Then a nap. All in all, a good weekend.

I see on trailforks you have to join RCMBA in order to ride those trails. I clink on their join link and it takes me to a generic IMBA page. Am I missing a step?

That's no longer a thing. You can just ride there.

Pro tip: When done, head down the fire road that parallels fishery for a nice swimming area.

Yeah it s funky but it works. Click on the link to RCMBA from their page, then at IMBA site scroll down and click to Join IMBA, as part of that process you get to choose which "Chapter". You can then select RCMBA. It says all funds go to the chapter, but I still dropped a donation to IMBA as well. I had the same concern but figured it out.

Damn it’s ALWAYS dusty 8 months of the year! Maybe I’ll go back to the sram pads but i sure like the feel of these. The howl is annoying
I just got some TRP sintered on my HD6 and they were really nice at Northstar. My friends had to keep looking back to see if I was a live because I’m usually howling on my Golds with my e-bike.

HD6 - XT + TRP Rotor + TRP metals - Silent
Oso - XT + TRP Rotor + MTX Gold - Howls

I had shimano sintered with that combo and they would just howl no matter what. So I went MTX but I should have listened to my friends when they said go reds. I have some reds I need to throw on the Oso and I’ll report back.
